I'm not trying to be negative, I just want to leave an honest review. I do commercial cleaning. One contract we have already had a Libman brush at every toilet. The caddy is great but the brush is too stiff with too few bristles. It does not get the corners down in the hole at all. The rubbermaid commercial is a decent brush. So far it's the best one I have used but I admit that I am still looking for a better one. That's why I am watching this video. Thanks for the reviews!

Hi Angela, we use a Lubeka in the bathrooms instead of a toilet brush, they are expensive but I’m assured one will last a lifetime. These are more for everyday toilet spot-cleaning rather than scrubbing, but we also use it with a deposable washing up sponge when the toilet needs a proper scrub so now we’ve been able to throw away all out brushes.

I saw your recommendation (on another video) that each toilet in a house should have its own toilet brush, and so I picked up one for the upstairs bathroom from the Dollar Tree, plus some Lime-a-Way toilet bowl cleaner which some Dollar Tree haul videos had suggested was pretty effective on rust/hard-water stains in toilet bowls (a longtime problem in that upstairs toilet). Now I just have to get around to using that stuff! (I should probably also get some rubber or nitrile gloves to wear while cleaning the toilet, though.)

Seemingly nice wand, BUT --- when the pad goes down the toilet (instead of into the trash can) it gets VERY EXPENSIVE. Yes, it happened and here's a quick summary of the results: (1) The renter [or a helpful friend?] cleaned his/her apartment toilet on move-out day. Nobody has admitted to doing it, but somehow the Chlorox disposable toilet cleaning pad went down the toilet and out of sight. (2) Checking the vacant apartment, the caretaker and later the property manager flushed the toilet [water only] and it looked/worked fine. (3) The next day a new tenant moved into the apartment and later she used it. The solid wastes immediately blocked the toilet, the bowl filled and sewage overflowed onto the floor. (4) The maintenance guy tried a plunger and then a snake to clear the toilet drain. Neither worked. The snake grabbed something, jammed, and could not be pulled back out. The toilet was removed and the blockage was not visible from either the toilet bowl or the toilet's exit hole. (5) A brand new toilet had to be purchased and installed. (6) The old toilet, with snake still stuck inside, was taken outdoors and broken with a hammer. VOILA! The Chlorox toilet wand's pad was on the end of the snake and there was a load of "sewage" piled up on the bowl-side of the lovely pad. BOTTOM LINE --- This is a "CRAPPY" DESIGN, not unlike little children swallowing and choking on small toys. SUGGESTION --- Provide larger [flush-proof] pads, or trash this product as a potentially expensive hazard.

LOL. Oddly, there is a market for it. Some people like to have the most expensive of everything, so I'm trying to figure out why it is only $55. The makers could probably charge $1,000 for it and still have buyers. 😆

Thank you for your questions! Silicone brushes are great for daily cleaning! For deep cleaning, a good old bristle brush with a disinfectant solution is a great option. Any bleach-free cleaner that's safe for toilets will work well with your silicone brush.

Great video, I am very concerned about scratching the bowl with a hard bristles, any suggestions?
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 2 жыл бұрын
Most toilet brushes are designed to work inside ceramic or porcelain coated toilet bowls. The key is to avoid brushes that have wire centers that attach the bristles. When the bristles wear down, the metal wire in the center can scratch the toilets. You have to look pretty hard anymore to find one of those toilet brushes with metal in the center (you can still buy them at the Dollar Tree - but for the most part, they are all plastic or resin.)
@nancyvaladez5099
@nancyvaladez5099 3 жыл бұрын
I have a plumber friend and he told me that brushes scratch the porcelain. After time the scratches will start to show. He recommended that I use a plumbers pumas when cleaning rust or hard water rings and a cleanser with bleach in it. What do you think, is he right?
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 3 жыл бұрын
There used to be these toilet brushes on the market that had wire holding the bristles together. When the bristles wore down the wire frame would scratch the living daylights out of the porcelain. In the later years they've come out with nylon brushes that don't scratch toilet bowls. But if you use pumice stones and certain types of brushes you can scratch the bowls depending on the surface type. Example: The toilets in an RV are not made of porcelain or ceramic but rather a resin and they can scratch really easily. The newer bidet toilets also have resin components that need special care.

@AskAngelaBrown

If you use a good toilet bowl cleaner, it should remove the mold. You can use a toilet brush daily to maintain the toilet and keep new mold at bay. Here is a video about the inner workings of a toilet kzbin.info/www/bejne/p2q1fqKBoseUo68 and where the water comes from.

Hi Angela 🙋‍♀️🌹 I have A FEW QUESTIONS?? WHAT toilet bowl cleaner do you use????? I've been using ''Blue toilet cleaners '' and it's leaving blue stains. Question 2. is bleach bad for toilets. . ... I don't know what to use NOW. 👉😟. Question 3. if you have really bad stains under the rim , how do i clean them off.... mainly in the bigger holes. . . Not sure if it's from poo.
@AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 2 жыл бұрын
Hi Dianne, what chemical you use depends on what type of cleaning you are doing. For a regular maintenance clean I use a dry powdered cleanser with a plastic toilet brush. You don't need heavy duty chemicals if you don't have a mineral buildup. Really bad stains under the rim can be cleaned with a chemical cleaner and then maintained with powdered cleanser.

Hi Tammy, Any toilet brush will do. And if there is one next to the toilet it can become a natural habit to flush and brush the toilet after each use if necessary. There are even inexpensive toilet brushes at the dollar tree that works really well. Colon problems sound horrible. I'm so sorry your kids (and your family) are experiencing this. @AskAngelaBrown
@AskAngelaBrown 2 жыл бұрын
I'm not 100% sure what it is but by the sound of it my guess is that someone used a pumice stone on the ring that was there. They scratched off the porcelain in that area. Then they applied a blue dyed toilet bowl cleaner at a later date and that dyed the ceramic of the bowl itself. If this is the case, you are the proud owner of a blue ring in your toilet.

The Clorox brush poses an environmental problem. The last thing the world needs is more single use plastic and harsh chemicals. None of that is necessary or desirable to clean toilets or anything else. Some of you will disagree, and that's fine, but I'm speaking from 15 years cleaning and managing cleaners and clients. No need to create more waste. Other than that, great video. Love the rubber brush!!! 💚

Tom Hodges However there are many people that simply throw away the brushes and buy a new one especially when all they have to do is go to the dollar store and that is far more wasteful and harmful for our environment. It’s sad but I know many people who simply throw away the brush every two weeks or every month. It’s crazy.This is a fantastic solution for people who simply don’t want to clean the brushes and it’s far less wasteful. I think it’s important to see the big picture.

@@TheSisUNeed she clearly addresses this in the video - that is the homeowner’s or resident’s responsibility. No one wants toilet brushes being carted around in their car or throughout their house.

LOL. I know right? Once you clean toilets with no toilet brush, they start looking like a necessity. ;-)

Have you tried the plastic ones they sell at the Dollar Tree? They come in a cup/holder and they last 3-6 months with daily use. (And they are cheap.)

The mold that grows under tight rimmed toilets is gross and unhealthy. Please make a sturdy brush that cleans under that tight rim COMPLETELY!

Never ever have one in the house about there are 10 vet a bike pump get water out of bowel with it. Then use a once a week dish brush then dispose of it the pump gets you to water line dish brush helps to scrub out and below plus under rim. I worked in hospital Queen Elizabeth maternity hospital Edgbaston Birmingham and they in the 60s showed us how to clean a toilet properly the long handled brush helps to get rid of water from bowl by brushing it away to get to water line Aldi blue toilet cleaner good elbow griece even if it looks clean no it is not and once a week dismantle the lot and soak in hot soapy bleach water hinges the lot no one likes to talk about toilets but I am afraid we need to and if you have children teach them before using pop a drop of bleach down illuminates smells two sheets of paper no marks. Accidents tell mother children must be taught and some adults Check toilet before leaving it after use wipe button with antibacterial wipe as hands are dirty the lid is there for a reason to keep that flushed water in bowl keep clean and stay safe no toilet brush is good at all 😉 stay safe

Toilets come in many designs, which means different style brushes may be needed depending on the design. On top of that, people have different priorities. I appreciated this video even though I know I still need to do my own research - Angela just gave me a jump start so I know which ones are most likely to meet my needs.
