I have the straightest hair on the planet. Perms do nothing...even professional perms. I blame it on my northeastern Native American genes cause I don’t have much body hair either...lol...makes shaving easier to! While I really wish I could get some body or curl, I’m kinda glad I don’t because honestly... I’m so lazy when it comes to haircare. I think keeping it natural is best. Nature loves variety & we are all perfect the way we are. Doesn’t mean jazzing it up sometimes isn’t good...yeah it’s fun! I just love when women keep it natural. Power to the natural beauty we all have and thank you nature for the wide variety!! Hugs my luvs!! Oh and lady, you are absolutely stunning!!

wildstyle203 wildstyle203 are you talking to both of us or specifically me? Cause I’m no idiot when it comes to that! My best friend happens to be Choctaw & I fully understand. This is unnecessarily becoming racist & there was never any intention or desire to go down that road. It was a simple comment about hair texture with no additional intentions. Some natives have straight thin hair & some have kinky curly hair like my niece of a Cherokee tribe. I personally find mother nature’s variety beautiful. So please take your anger elsewhere. There are plenty of racist haters out there to focus on!

In the 70s, my mom used to perm my straight hair into tight curls because it was "easier" to take care of. I remember the smelly, horrible chemical process and hated it (I was like 4-5 years old). In the 80s I had curly haired friends who would literally press their hair with a clothes iron to get straight hair. Today, I say embrace what you've got! All hair types are gorgeous.

I used to straighten my hair daily and bleach it loads when I was 13-19 - it was so damaged. I then started getting depression real bad and I stopped caring for my hair, and in the past year or so it's started getting really curly, it was always thick, and frizzy, but I didn't realise it was actually curly because of all the damage I did to it. I'm coming up 24 and just starting to look into hair care for my hair type - I think I'm in the 3s (Not sure where), but I'm sure I'll know more when I get a silicone and sulphate free shampoo and conditioner (I found some, my next hair wash will be with it), and when I do the other things people recommend for curly hair :) Can't wait to have natural, healthy, curly hair :D

Does the two inch rule to find out your texture apply to all hair types? I have straight to wavy hair (about 2a to 2b or even 2c naturally, but if I blow dry it or repetitively brush it while it's drying I can get it to almost 1) for my hair though it only really gets wavy about 2/3 or half way down. I guess that's because it's rather long (down to my chest) and that could explain why it's kind of 'pulling the waves down' and flattening them at the top. So when I loom the first two inches it's more of a 1 to 2a but when I look further down it's more of a 2b to 2c. Hope this question makes somewhat sense😂 By the way I really loved the video! I was so informative and taught me so many new things especially about more curly hair because I didn't know too much about it since I have only ever really had to deal with my own straight hair😍👌🏼

I'm confused because the front part of my hair is kind of straight-looking like 2a but it has the texture of 4b/c The sides of my hair around the corners are 4c while hair on the back and middle of my head is very curly/wavy 4a/4b textured... Some products I use work for only certain parts of my head. Its frustrating.

I love that my hair is thick and nappy but soft, I change the style according to what it will do and what the weather is. Natural hair products are essential. I rocked an afro in my younger years and set it to make a curly afro. It still needs conditioning. I damaged it with chemicals and cut it off. When I cut it to very short I found my curl pattern is tight and defined. As it grows, I can curl it around a comb. It is the products that keep it moisturized, give it shine and hold. My hairdresser parted my hair, gelled it, curled it around a comb, and put me under a hairdryer, and it was very nice. The problem is that some gel products and some of the creams leave a residue and flake off like dandruff. So, I am geared to oils the nourish the hair and scalp and looking for curl hair products that will help me define my hair as it grows out long and thick. I am trying to prevent the shrinkage especially in the center of the back of my head which must be 4d. I tried to do a wash and moisturize and curly product and go without drying but it shrinks. I did a brazilian blow out this past spring just to release the cur,l. It is ok. It does not have the tight curly rings I was looking for. It does blow out nice and smooth, but it does that with heat anyway. So, I am moving back to the moisturizing, clear curly products, and sitting under a hairdryer during the fall weather, I think. This chart is great, Now I know which products are likely to give me the best results for my curly do.

I just had a quick question, I understand she said natural hair at the beginning of the video, but I was wondering even though I'm hella white... could I still use this hair chart so when I go somewhere to get my hair done so it'd be easier to explain? By the way, your hair is absolutely gorgeous!!

Ye! White girl that goes between 2b to 3b (it’s a whollllllle thing and this is way easier than being like ‘I’m a curly but only like three inches down and then it’s either ringlets, open curls or waves depending on how it feels that day’) and trying to explain how to handle it.

I’m confuscious😂. See when wet, my hair goes to 3b but when dry, my hair goes to 4a but sometimes parts of my hair looks 3c, so I’m guessing I’m between 3b-4a. Is the type of hair based on it being dry or wet? My father is Korean so my hair is a mixture between black and Korean, but I’m confused at what state do you base your hair type off of.
@Setsunako65876 жыл бұрын
The chart refers to your hair when its dry, but not dehydrated. Your profile pic looks like a (cute!) healty 3c/4a/4b fro. It's almost always a mix of textures, anyway :) The point of the chart is just to give u a direction when you research & try different ways to take care of your hair. You're already in the ballpark, so have fun!

I'm sorry. This just confused me even more. Actual pictures of the hair types on real black ppl would have been helpful - for instance one before styled then one pic after so we understand how each type/texture looks. Ppl can have multiple hair types throughout?? 3C is the goal because of the coil.. but coils are on the 4 hair types as well? I am confusion. I have been on a search to find my hair type forever. Guess it'll remain a secret lol Thanks for sharing though.

I'm a white female with stick straight hair, and I have ALWAYS wanted 4A hair because there was a red headed Irish girl in my class with that type of hair, when I was little. Straight hair, to me, is so boring. I used to rat my hair up, just so I could give it some volume. Curly hair is just so beautiful to me.

Question: I'm a white woman with out of control hair. I was trying to find a way to deal with it, but my hair has pretty much everything from stick straight, to waves, to zig zagging back and forth curls that change directions, to ringlets, to tight ringlets... AND it's brittle. It used to be very thick, but now... it's thin. I have no idea what to do with it. I pull it back in a ponytail every day because I don't have the foggiest clue what I'm doing. My mom always had SUPER short buzzed off hair, I tried it once... let's just say ... that was a traumatic mistake and I didn't cut my hair for 11 years after. My hair being this long weighs it down so it doesn't go as high as it wants to. Don't get me started on what happens if I use a hair dryer OR comb it after its dry. But the ONLY resources I can find for white women's hair are all for straight hair or hair with a uniform appearance. Me? Not. Even. Remotely. What do you call hair that's ALL OVER the place? And more importantly... what do I do with it that doesnt make my hair fall out?
