All 'kidding' aside, what always gets my attention is the quality of the band members that she is always surrounded by. They are accomplished musicians and whichever ones are playing for her at any time they know they are not playing for a talented young kid and are just happy to provide a band for the young singer. They recognize .she is an accomplished artist, too, and have the utmost respect for her, her incredible talent with a voice they must be in awe of (like all of us) and her dedication to her craft. She has something to add to the overall production of every song she sings, well aware of the contribution of every member of the band. Age? When she's working, she's a pro. The lighter moment like we saw during the rehearsal of 'Cry Me A River' was prompted by something off camera that we didn't see and the band took it all in stride and they didn't miss a beat. Oh, neither did she! 'White Christmas'? You'd be surprised how many people recognized how she gave the stage to the sax player and then resumed her position at center stage when his solo was over. You have a field day pointing out all the intricate things going on when she is singing. She's just incredible. I just listened to Lea Salonga sing 'On My Own' at the 10th Anniversary of Les Miserables back in 1996 when she was 24 years old. I was so moved I sat at the computer for 5 hours listening to reactors with what they had to say. I must have listened to at least 30 reactors. Most of them were in tears as I was for the whole 5 hours! Why am I bringing this up? After I got up and got away from the computer and thought of Angelina, I wondered, how would she sound to me after listening to Lea sing so magnificently. I let an hour or so go by and then sat down to listen to Angelina. Honestly, I don't remember what song I listened to but after the song was over I sat back in my chair and thought to myself, "Wow!" It's all about genres and styles and when you listen to what an artist is doing to connect to the audience, that is the judge of how wonderful they are. Example: Willie Nelson. I came away from the computer very comfortable knowing I can cry listening to Lea and listening to Angelina. They are both at that level reserved for only a few. Hey, guy! Loved your reaction, as usual. You are a very confident dude and, at the same time you are humbled when you recognize greatness. That's a great combo and I wish you all the success in the world with your career.

In my estimation, the 'Gold Standard' for this song was by beautiful, talented jazz singer Ms. Julie London. Never thought I'd hear someone that I enjoy even more than Julie, but this girl is definitely that person. The fact she has reached this pinnacle so early in her life is astounding, but true.

Beautiful how in the "HYAMLC" this 10 year old demonstrates that, no matter what room she's in, it is she we want to hear singing. At the very start of the "CMAR" rehearsal (i think it is this one) when all the band members are laughing and quite surprised, it was because as soon as she approached her position she said into mic "So we're doing the Ella version?" Someone asks "When did we decide that?" and Angelina says "Well you're playing it in her key on the piano". The keyboard guy looks down, nods, and the whole group bursts into laughter. All in Norwegian, needs a translator. Amazing how at ?12 yrs? she has that sort of information accurately stored and rapidly retrievable.

in her summertime rehearsal for ngt final trumpeter says short version and aj says long and then he said either c or d and aj said a sharp.there was also a guitarist at rehearsal which she obviously didn't go with. incredible rehearsal especially considering importance. angelina almost looked bored and her mother told her to stop fidgeting. you could see who was in charge. remember how quick aj turned her head to trumpeter during final. i think she may have been worried about him messing up...

Christmas is here and Angelina has quite a few Christmas songs several on ITunes & Spotify. Most when she was younger like 8 or 9. This one is great but my absolute favorite is 'I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus' kzbin.info/www/bejne/m52lZplohtOimKs She was about 9 and she really Jazzed it up and sang it with a good deal of power and she holds the last note quite long. Yes it makes sense! You can approach notes from the upper part or from the lower part. Imagine notes as a bunch of boards. You can climb and pull yourself up, the lower approach, or jump on and land, the upper approach. The upper approach sounds usually better and more comfortable. Angelina is doing a purposefully slide towards the note. Getting more resonance can be learned. It takes time though. Try directing your voice at different spots in your head, throat and chest and see what happens :-)

Every single song she sang at this concert with this jazz band was phenomenal! For an eleven year old to sing like she did was uncharted waters. My favorite of them all that day was her version of Diamonds Are Forever! Jesse, you would love this whole concert! You could react to each song individually-would love to hear you do so.

Hi Bel. Danilo here again. It does make sense,at least to me. The Magic of Angelina is just that. The total control she has of her " instrument" allowing her to insert those " little,short, yet meaningful, riffs and runs into her performances. She is "Music". The way she floats up an down the register going from chest to head,falsetto voice all the way down to her lower notes that no female singer and few male ones can hit, often in a split second is, in my opinion, unparalled by anybody I've listened to in my life. I'm 70yo and I've listened to all the Greats of this and last century, many of them live. She's on a class of her own. 👍🤩❤️

Thank you for your feedback always excellent on Angelina Jordan's videos. One comment. On several occasions in various videos at different ages we can see that Angelina Jordan likes to laugh and have fun, which is very pleasant. You can be serious about your work and happily love to laugh. And on this subject, there is a fairly recent and unfortunately all too brief video of her in the car with her uncle (?) who is clowning around to some song. It is interesting to watch Angelina closely in this sequence because, while she is laughing at the driver's antics, she is at the same time required by what she is hearing. For most of us this song is not really interesting; for her, we see her eyes for a moment lost in the music, however mediocre, simply because it is still music and even then there is something for her to hear.

On some of those high notes she may going above the interval or note she wants to hit and sliding down to it. She really is a master of hitting "target" notes that are widely spaced in a melody. This takes great skill and confidence because you have to hit those notes in pitch when you land on them otherwise there's a chance of being sharp or flat. Since those interval jumps are very dramatic any errors are magnified. Usually a singer will be going higher in pitch to the target note and just try to hit the note and not try to hit it by sliding into the pitch since this is even more difficult. But I think Angelina has been listening and learning from the greats. Ella Fitzgerald comes quickly to mind but many great jazz singers did slides and wide intervals. She even steals a few Bing Crosby crooner style riffs in this performance. This kid has really done her homework. I've heard many little nods to other greats in many of her performances. On her versions of Fly Me To The Moon I even hear touches of Old Blue Eyes, The Chairman Frank Sinatra.

One of the songs I like to sing most is a Roberta Flack classic: Killing me softly. I used to sing it somewhat mimicking Roberta but then Angelina sang it " to me" live in kongsberg and she gave me a number of variations, nuances, vocal inflections,riffs,runs that, just like you, I would never have dreamed of. Now I'm mimicking Angelina. With all due respect of course.😇😉

What we have here is a happy person living the life of her dreams. Who could ask for more than that. Without laughter, life is a constant downer. Angelina can laugh and be funny with the best of them. Here's another very short video (1 minute) of Angelina at rehersal in the same place.
