Well, I’ve listened and watched over thirty times now, and I can truly say that the Lyrics in this song are unbelievable for someone aged 14 to have written. And they truly do come from Angelina’s heart, that’s obvious when you hear them, as does everything she sings or does. Her best original lyrics to date, bar none! Not only does it speak to Angelina’s loss, it speaks to anyone who has lost someone they love. So in addition to her fabulous soothing vocals, her words have the same soothing effect. She’s pure musical genius. The more I listen to the song, the more i love it. BTW, even Angelina feels like we do about the "old soul," as she said, "“I feel like I’ve lived many years more than my age." Also, here's the article about her signing with republic in Variety variety.com/2020/music/news/angelina-jordan-signs-republic-records-1234823661/, and here’s Angelina’s now filled in bio page on the Republic Records website www.republicrecords.com/artists/angelina-jordan. rotorhead1942 I don't know if I'd agree with your suggestion that Angelina feels like an old soul. I'd interpret her quote as saying that she has experienced far more than most of her contemporaries, which makes her feel older..... I am by no means a prodigy, but I skipped grades in school, was tall for my age and looked older, which led to socializing with people older than myself, was very independent, sexually percocious and looked to by friends as a voice of reason and wisdom. So it was no surprise that I felt that I've lived many more years than my age. But in no way did I feel like an old soul; in fact, I didn't really understand it's meaning until I was much older.
@rotorhead-fy7nc4 жыл бұрын
@@103mrg I was using one of the Urban Dictionary's definitions of "old Soul," which is "Someone who has a greater appreciation and understanding of things that might be dismissed by others their age. An old soul would have a different taste in things than the mainstream media. They are often wise beyond their age or appearance." Taking them one at a time, Angelina certainly demonstrated an understand of charity and compassion at age 6, that others her age might have dismissed, when she felt so badly for the orphan girl to whom she gave the green boots that she loved so much. She certainly developed a different taste in music for a young child and the mainstream, when she discovered Billy Holiday and other jazz greats so young, and fell in love with their music. And lastly, I believe Angelina has always been wise beyond her years at every age. So, IMO, I think Angelina fits the Urban Dictionary definition of Old Soul to a tee. Also, the fact that you didn't "feel" like an old soul didn't mean you weren't one :-)

I remember watching Angelina on Norway got talent back in the day. And everyone was just shook.. my 50somethingyearold, jazz fanatic dad was crying during most of the gloomy Sunday performance. We were all hoping she would still love music as she grew up, because she was born with a generational talent, but it’s not a given that you will embrace it. Luckily she was “mostly” shielded for most of her childhood after winning the talent show and she had the opportunity to be a kid and grow up to be the humble and kind person she is! So cool to see that her music is touching hearts all around the world.

Hey Rusty whats the difference between this group and the other 2 fan groups on FB ? Seems to be the same things that are being posted there. Do we need so many groups ?
@RustyShacklefordChannel4 жыл бұрын
@@artfartzy There are several groups for Angelina, and they all have their own purpose and unique content. The best run groups will be closely moderated to ensure the privacy and integrity of Angelina is maintained. We try to keep a close eye out for people that are looking to profit from Angelina's work (or members of the group), and decline posts related to those people. There are also some groups that allow free posting from all members with very little restrictions on posts (Like the "Feeling Good" fan group) and this group serves its own purpose as a place where people can post at will (as long as it stays on topic of Angelina), But even here we try to sniff out anyone attempting to profit from copying Angelina's work. And then there are other groups where the posting is more controlled to help maintain a clean look in the feed and prevent lots of spam posting (these groups also serve a purpose) "The Shield" is one of these groups, but is intended to be a little more exclusive... A smaller group where some of her most dedicated fans can share information that won't be found in some of the other groups. This is where lots of things get discussed, like exact dates of past shows, members of different bands, some of the more technical aspects of her music, etc.
@artfartzy4 жыл бұрын
@@RustyShacklefordChannel Okay thx for the explanation, I mostly just look in the summertime fan group or the other AJ fan group, and I noticed a lot of the post was the same. But it's good with a group with less spam, also in the other groups people post old videos that most of us have already seen, so for those who dont want all that and only want new stuff and relevant information this shield group can be good.
@RustyShacklefordChannel4 жыл бұрын
@@artfartzy exactly. We try to keep "The Shield" to new, relevant, informative, or previously unseen stuff. "Feeling Good" is more of a free-for-all, but it gives a place where everyone can post whatever their new favorite video or photo is without having to go through post approvals. "Fan Club" is somewhere in between. We try to maintain a balance of allowing people to post stuff while also tying to prevent too much duplicate stuff that has already been posted at some point.

I have been crying all day for three reasons. First, because of the excitement over the release of Angelina's first single from Republic Records. Second, because of the sheer beauty of "Million Miles" - the music, the lyrics, the production quality and, most importantly, Angelina's astounding voice! Third, I went back to reminisce with some of my favorite reactors over the years. Although I had viewed these reactions many, many times in the past, watching them now in light of this important milestone in Angelina's life and career was very emotional for me. It was like paging through the family photo album just after giving my daughter away at her wedding. The poignant memories about her youth are now colored with the knowledge that she has grown up and taken a huge step in her life. While we will follow and support her in whatever the future holds, she will always be the little girl we have come to know and love. Could someone please pass the tissues??

@@wolfrock2270 It IS what Art wants to produce - emotional responses. You've donated your great emotionalism to us in your reactions to these Great Arts. (I still love your quick wet-eyes in PUT A SPELL - "Wha - ?!!" That's so much emotions bursting out that you can't - you don't have time - to express any other way. That burst of wet-eyed almost hysteria. Can you ever 'stand' to watch your own reactions over time?

A great reaction and a great first deliverable from the AJ/Republic (what will likely be) juggernaut! I am pleased that this original song from Angelina has both her distinctive vocal elements and sufficient "pop" appeal that it will serve both Angelina's current fanbase as well as the new audience that Republic's efforts will begin to deliver. Second, it (as few others can do) packs an emotional wallop across deep and poignant lyrics and serves (as one reactor pointed out) as a sort of an anthem of loss for many during this crazy pandemic-affected year and beyond. A serious song by a serious artist. Sometimes this can best be translated as "AJ don't play". Third, it contains not a hint of any provocative presentation of Angelina to the world as many beginning artists are "encouraged" to do. Nothing but an appropriate still of her is in either official video. Well done by all. Thank you Angelina!

I can not evaluate the quality yet - so here is my checklist of fears: Big Record Label is scary. Her voice is produced so true that I instantly recognise it. Both in her use of her vocal cords and in her intonation and pacing and interesting placement of accents. The production is FAT (or velvety) - but they have given her tons of separation. There is ... ONE kickdrum thump? Trusting her voice and talent and song to carry it all. The video could have been about a beautiful girl "coming of age" the way big music companies like to show that off. Instead, we got a video based on the visual language of Angelina and her grandmother. And finally, the record company has not strapped her onto a bought super-duper radio-hit designed for the month of November 2020 as a flash success to crash #1 playlists before Christmas. They release her with a song that she wrote. It is low-key. With a huge heart. We all know that when she performs this song stripped with just a piano - it will totally hold up and maybe even improve - that great songs tend to do. So, I am just filled with relief. I am even ok with the "sound-scape" I assume her record will be given. It is contemporary - but her vocals are SO separated - so far in front of the "production backdrop" that it actually works to her benefit.

As an aside her uncle Michael Astar took down all but one pic on his insta,the one with Angelina,Quincy Jones,and Michael during the meeting at Quincy's 85th bday concert.He also follows only Angelina there.I'm guessing that he's now totally focussed on Angelina's upcoming path.Your reaction was wonderful as always thanks.

I lost my grandma she was like a mother to me she was the only one there for at the time i fell in a deep depression that ive slowly come to take controll of i can really connect to this song the lyics "were a million miles apart ts pulling my heart "is such a good saying for how i feel its like every time i remember her my heart aches and i look up at the sky hoping we dont have to be separated anymore i would do anything to see her or just to even say one word to her

Glad you saw Angelina's new song, thanks for the sweet and beautiful reaction, Wolf Rock. This is a really beautiful job and it really brings out her beautiful voice, it's an unusual harmony for her ... but in the end what can be unusual for her? 😂 😌 It's definitely a good start with Republic, a sweet song dedicated to grandfather and people who have lost someone, but also full of hope, with beautiful lyrics, especially for a 14 year old girl, and her voice ... more and more charming Angelina and grandmother Mery, a beautiful story of an inspired family. I love it, it's just amazing ❤️ ❤️ You can listen to it a million times, I'm on the right track to do it and move me every time ...

Ollie, what can we say? I get messages from my heart everyday asking me to play Angelina's music. And, now this! You and I touched on this subject a while ago and, amazingly, here comes Angelina's musical version of how we should interact with our dear loved ones who have passed on and replace sadness with a feeling of togetherness which will never leave us.

This song is beautiful. So soulful. When I was listening to this song. I started crying, because I started thinking about my grandmother. She was my rock. She was always there for me when I was sad and there to kick me in the butt when I was bad. She helped me get through my brother's death. She was an awesome person. Awesome job Angelina. Beautiful song.

In an inverview from 2015, Angelina reads this form her diary: "The world is very strange. Right than and there I felt as if a door in my heart opened up, and it was filled with lots of light. It was as if there was, from earth to heaven, a staircase. I climbed up the stairs To be able to do something for another human - it was such a big thing. Hard to describe really..." Sometimes l am a bit dense but it finally occurred to me how very many of Angelina's songs contain the moon imagery. Obviously it is important. Fly me to the moon. Her touching the moon at the end of I'm holding out for you. The moon in the background of At last. She just continues to amaze me. Wonderful reaction by the way. Thanks.
