Fantastic simple receipe, I never knew Bridget that pepper fry was made without ginger garlic paste, I thought every cooking dish had to have ginger and garlic, I will make this dish on sunday

Thanks Merlyn. No need to add ginger and garlic when making pepper fry. We need to just bring out the taste of pepper only.

Yummy!! This is the real Anglo indian pepper fry! No ginger/ garlic paste. Simple but packed with flavour. I remember my nana had only four ingredients in her kitchen cupboard. Black pepper, rock sal, turmeric which we call saffron 😃 and mustard seeds. Thank you Bridget for keeping these memories alive. God bless you and your family ❤️
@bridgetwhiteangloindianrecipes2 жыл бұрын
Dear Nelson. Thank you for your appreciation. Yes minimal ingredients is the rule for Anglo-Indian dishes. That’s what makes it so unique. And yes we still say saffron for turmeric. I guess because of the yellow colour. Take care. God bless you and your family abundantly.

Hi Bridget I am a Anglo to just wanted to ask u can we put a little saua sauce and a teaspoon of vinigar just for colour and to get that tangy taste will that be good
@bridgetwhiteangloindianrecipes Жыл бұрын
Hi Elizabeth. I don’t use soya sauce or vinegar in my Pepper Fry. You could add it if you like but it wouldn’t be the authentic Anglo Pepper Fry and would taste like a Chinese Dish instead if you know what I mean. Anglo-Indian Cuisine brings out the flavour of the meat with subtle ingredients. That’s why my recipes are very simple with just a few ingredients. However, do feel free to add whatever you want as it depends on each one’s taste. God bless

Hello Bridget. Beef pepper fry. Absolutely delicious. Easy to make. I love it. I also make this with pork., I make it at least 2 or 3 times a month. Sorry it's taken this long to comment. My excuse. I was too busy cooking!. I've just finished watching your video on how to make chicken vindaloo and I'm looking forward to making that next weekend. I know it will be delicious. How come no ginger and garlic, use freshly chopped ginger and garlic with rosemary and a dash of black vinegar or apple cider vinegar the dish will explode with flavours or also can use just ginger without garlic the flavour is amazing
@bridgetwhiteangloindianrecipes2 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your suggestion Mark. This is the original Anglo-Indian Pepper Fry Recipe that my grandma and mum made. I bring out the flavour of the meat and the strength of the pepper. Adding other ingredients detract from the original taste. As I said each one has their own way of making it.
