Edinburgh playhouse (3,500 crowd) - 4 times in the 80s - up close. couldn't beat the early days - you could see the band - no big screens required. when Angus walked in the crowds. can still remember the opening, when the original bell was used and brian actually hit it!. sorry to say they are getting too old to perform big like this now.

Saw them July at Wembley. They were dog shit. Brian couldn't sing. Angus' didnt play well and it sounded like a three year old when he did his excruciating guitar solo. The band and the sound was atrocious. I was so pissed off I spent at least half the gig in the bar.

Not if he isn't performing well. If Barry Sanders came out of retirement and couldn't rush for more than 2 yards in a game, would we just be "lucky" to have gotten to see him? If you can't perform at a high level, lower your ticket prices and I'll lower my expectations. Love seeing the legacy acts, but only if they can still bring it.

It's torture to see him perform like this & really damaging the bands reputation as one of those bands whose singer can no longer sing, like sing really poorly. It's unacceptable & age should not come into the conversation. Forget the age & focus on the quality of the product versus the price of the tickets. Not cheap & it's not outrageous to expect to hear a singer that can..um hold a note & sing in time.

I went to their third gig of the tour, here in Italy: it's been the best concert of my life Brian sang really good, yeah, they are struggling with Thunderstruck, Angus too, but it's not a song that ruins a whole awesome show. Also, i think there are a lot of people like me who, more than basic hits like Thunderstrck, were excited by songs like RIff raff, Sin City, Rosie, Let There Be rock, etc. and they were briliant! greetings✌

I heard about that gig in Italy from others that he was good so maybe this was just an off day in Dresden. Thanks for watching

What's really sad is that the state of modern music leaves people clamoring for rock singers who are pushing 80 to climb on stage and perform. A 77 year old guy still performing in a band would've seemed like an absolute joke back in the day. Hello? What did/does your old grandad's voice sound like when he answers the phone, let alone if he were attempting to sing Hells Bells?

I can't believe the title and some of the comments on this thread about Brian Johnson, the legend is 76 years old and has battled back from hearing issues, I have been to the Italy, Seville and two London concerts and I have the Dublin one booked, people haven't booked to "expect what they paid for" they have paid to watch a living legend of a singer and guitarist perform on possibly their last tour ever, I was there at the Axl gig and I will take Brian Johnson now or Brian Johnson at 86 and he'll sound better then Axl and half of the old singers still out there, he is sounding unreal live, its about time he gets the respect he deserves, rock on Brian Johnson!

Well I have two choices, being honest or dishonest. On that particular show in Dresden his performance was off. I did not expect that, want that or enjoy that. But I have decided to have my videos, titles and such representing what I feel on that particular concert/album that I am reviewing. Now that does not mean that I am not respecting the legacy of the person/band I am judging. I am in that concert having paid loads of money, driven 3 hours to get there, to see a band that I love. But as I said, I will not claim something that was off to be great. And on that particular night in Dresden it just was not good, I still enjoyed the show and I give it 8/10 in my rating which I think is not bad but Brian had a bad day at the office there. On the other hand I have read and heard that he has had more better days than bad days on other gigs since then. So that is good to hear. Thanks for watching

Funny that some people think Brian sounds worse and worse because I think the opposite. Brian struggled hard on last year show. It was PAINFUL to watch, and hear! And at the start of this 2024 tour, too. But it looks like he learned how to use his, now old, voice on the last shows I've heard. Mostly using a bit more his cleaner voice and using his breathing differently. It's not perfect, and it will never be like before, BUT now at least he looks happy on stage, (it was not really the case last year and on the first 2024 dates). I think he should just stop singing Thunderstruck and one or too other songs because he just can't do them justice anymore (and replace them with more suited ones). Good points I noticed how he changed his style and even the timing of the words to give him more time to breathe it's definitely an improvement. Brian has struggled with thunder struck in years and years. Look at the DVD stiff upper lip from early 2000s he is struggling worse there on thunderstruck than I've ever seen him. He is even kneeling down and looks like his face is gonna explode and he still can't get it right. Or maybe the kneeling down part was on shoot to thrill where he is also really struggling on that show. I can't remember exactly because it's a long time since I watched that DVD but I remember it being bad.

I was in the pit and could see it on his face. That's why I thought it would be their final show. I've heard some of the KZbin videos on the current European tour, and he has vastly improved. The funny thing is that when most of the classic rock bands where in their prime, they only toured every few years,now when their much older, they all seem to be on tour every year, and the older they get the worse the performance, singing Rock is not easy when you’re young, forget about it after 60, few can pull it off. I believe leaving the fans with memories of great shows,not geriatric gymnastics, depressing

It's economics. They used to book the lower cost tours to support the albums. Now people listen to the songs in you tube and don't really buy albums that much any more so they raised the prices on the concerts to support the. Music labels and they have to tour frequently to make the money. Also there are not that many new bands that can attract full stadiums of fans. So the brand names like AC DC, Rolling stones Deep Purple get the call to go in your frequently.

Was there in Vienna. Priceless... Awesome...Brian as iconic as expected...you should enjoy...not judge...because judging doesn't make Brian any less cool...it just makes you liked less...given what AC DC gave us in 50 years (mind you)...even if Brian only showed up and said nothing, it wouldn't matter...he'd still be cool and iconic...but he was far more than that...to still perform like this after all these years...all you needed to do was enjoy...they are legends, not a high school cover band on the local rock festival competition.

Backing boys, tight and focussed. Brian, i thought he did better than you reported, im a Bon Scott era fan and i thought he did well on those era songs like RiffRaff, Sin city, Let Therr Be Rock. Set list … was missing Bad Boy Boogie and Hell Aisnt a bad place to be… crowd interaction, was missing but this was never one if their strengths. The synchronization of the screen and sound is only possible at one point due to the different speeds of sound and light. In large venues, there is a main sound system hung on the stage and several distributed systems (called delay lines) that need to be delayed. Otherwise, people close to the delay line will hear the sound from it first, and then, after some time depending on the distance, the sound from the stage. Therefore, the signal at the delay line must be precisely adjusted according to the distance. The only solution is to have separate screens hung at the delay lines with the video signal delayed accordingly to match the sound from the delay line. However, if there are large screens on the stage that are visible from a great distance, even from behind the delay line, it is physically impossible to synchronize them. It is similar to seeing lightning and then hearing the thunder afterwards.

The screens are hard to sync so that everyone experience them in sync. Usually they sync them to a middle spot between the audiences behind and front. So those close to the screen have a picture that is ahead of the sound, those way behind have a picture that is behind the song. With a setup like this it's even more complicated, you have 2 productions running, one for the audience that relies on a screens and then one that is part of the "show". That means everything is up in the air.. Short version, inner/vip circle or pass..

I absolutely agree with you. Brian I think is in pretty good shape. The reason why he sounds a bit off on some songs (I really don't give a fck about that) is that the most popular songs are mostly really high so Brian has to go fully in head voice which costs a lot of breath also his distorted style of singing mid and head voice costs a lot of air too so I think he is physically able to do more shows but he'll just be a bit off tempo sometimes. But in all seriousness if you don't concentrate on it when seeing them live you don't really notice. So to sum it all up I don't think Brian has a serious voice issue. And the rest of the band sounds tight of course. Totally worth it.

You can't expect them to perform at the standard of the old days at their age. At least they ain't miming like Kiss. Even legends get old. I would like to see you try to sing on stage at 69.

I think this might be a small tour, they even said when Power Up came out that they would only be doing big shows, let everyone get a last glimpse and for them to say their goodbyes, give it hell Brian, you've made it on this earth 1 year longer than my father and you are still trying to sing in a band, go out the way you want to go out .

Well obviously your expectations are way to high. I have seen AC/DC 5 times starting in 85 and they have always blown the roof off ( including Brian ) I am the biggest AC/DC fan in the world and even I do not expect Brian to be as great as he always had been in his younger years. You keep comparing him to the rest of the band- you have to remember that the rest of the band are playing their instruments that do all of their pitching of sound for them, And they all work their asses off to produce the music for us, but Brian is in many ways working much harder than the rest because his voice is his instrument and to do what he does, especially at his age, takes an extreme amount of energy. You are younger than he is- you try doing what he does. I have a damn good set of lungs and vocal chords myself and in some ways it would still be fairly difficult to keep up with Brian even with his being older. If you expect that he is going to be able to do what he did decades or even just 10 years ago live then you should not go to the show because you are not living in reality. There is no reason to be on your channel attempting to bash Brian just for the views because 1.- you couldn’t even begin to keep up with him, and 2.- all of us true AC/DC fans understand already and are more than willing to cut some slack and accept it for what it is and don’t need someone like you to explain it to us. You make me think of a neighbor of mine who likes to gossip about other neighbors, and as he is doing it he leans in real close and talks quietly in a low hushed kind of voice, almost whispering so that nobody will hear what that chickenshit is saying. You can tell from a distance when he is gossiping like an old lady because when it is just him and one other person alone he is leaning in real close to them as he gossips so that nobody will hear him. I don’t listen to or give a shit about his bullshit either.

I saw them in munich and I totally agree. Brian is not capable to do that any more. Yes, he is old, but you can't charge 180 Euros per ticket, if you can't deliver. That's not ok. And there were awkward pauses between the songs, no talking to the audience whatsoever. Regarding the synching: I suspect, you were too far away, the speed difference between sound and light is significant, and it doesn't need much distance to have a real effect.

ACDC don't have anything left to prove. If they retired tomorrow they would/will have bowed out gracefully. I certainly would respect them for it. Brian actually looks frustrated that he cannot reach the high notes and understandably so. Angus guitar playing is still awesome. They've rocked harder than most in this world and their music will continue to echo through the universe long after they're gone.

Spot on. I went to see them last Sunday, at Wembley and came back with exactly the same conclusions. At the end, Bryan just said a quick goodbye and left running, as if he needed to go to the toilet. No interaction with the crowd at all, not even a typical clap together or something like that. It looks as if he only wants to get the job done, and nothing else. His voice was terrible during the best bits of Back in Black and some other songs, but it was fine with other not so famous songs. Don't get me wrong, I loved it, and Angus is definitely the star of the show, but Bryan needs a rest. Personally, I think he should try and sing like he does with Slash. I agree also about the daylight, the screens and the maybe a bit too long solo. However, despite all my moaning, I would also give it an 8 out of 10, simply because it's ACDC, and it was great. Cheers!

I saw them 2015 and then there was not a lot of interaction either but I just find it so off with such big crowds. I get it that Brian might not want to be talking between songs, he wants to have water and take a breather but then maybe hand the crowd over to another member in the band during the breaks. I think Brian have his ups and downs for sure since its been so long that he toured, and then there is the age thing :) Thanks for watching and glad you enjoyed the gig

@@metalandrockzone I agree. I don't expect a big interaction or a sing along with the crowd, it's rock after all, but some sort of acknowledgment would be nice. In any case, I did enjoy it, and so did my 8 year old son. It was his first time at a rock concert and although he was a bit overwhelmed, he didn't stop shouting and jumping with the songs. He loves ACDC. And so do I. Thanks for your reply!

Thank you for the video and review. Brian sounds terrible. I saw videos from earlier in the tour and he sounded quite bad the first 2 or 3 then got better, but here he's *shockingly* bad on that version of Thunderstruck. It's really sad to see the band (what's left of them) play when sounding so bad (and yes only Brian is the one sounding this awful). They were the greatest band in the world. It's over - even if they are still playing, or Angus is - this is not AC/DC anymore. They should have quit while ahead. And agree with those who say Yes Brian is old now etc but also not right to charge a fortune (let alone ANYTHING) for performances like this, when they - or in this case, he, can't do it anymore. Thank you for your honest review, esp. considering most fans don't want to hear the truth about them.

Yes he was for sure not having his best day there, I think it is hard for those guys to stop, firstly we spay and show up, secondly it is not like they have other careers and having been a rockstar for decades probably makes it such a big part of your identity that it is hard to let go of it. I just saw them in Zurich last Saturday and Brian sounded amazing. He was spot on all songs, delivering beyond expectations. But two points you raise were there as well: almost 2/3 of the concert being in daylight, which is very strange considering we were watching AC/DC and the communication with the audience was almost non-existent, left me asking why
@metalandrockzone
@metalandrockzone 6 ай бұрын
Yes I think that they never really communicated in the past a lot but I think when you have that daylight show you sort of need something to work the crowd because the atmo was high during songs but then drops down and then up and down like that. But glad Brian had a good day in Zurich, maybe his Dresden gig was just off for some reason. thanks for watching
