⛰️ Learn how to create a beautiful mountain scene in cold process soap! This project involves layering various colors of soap to create a valley, mountain, and blue sky. It's scented with Evergreen Forest Fragrance Oil for a fresh scent.
⛰️ Evergreen Mountain Soap Project: bberry.studio/_EvergreenMount...
Evergreen Forest Fragrance Oil:

This cold process soap project is easier than it looks. The batter is created with the Gentle Quick Mix, which is a palm-free combination of oils and butter. It gives you plenty of time to work with the soap batter and create your layers.
Gentle Quick Mix: www.brambleberry.com/shop-by-...
To help the soap harden, we did use a 10% water discount. We also highly recommend sodium lactate in this recipe - it's a salt solution that is added to the lye water to help cold process soap harden faster. We also recommend promoting gel phase by insulating this soap and placing it on a heating pad.
Evergreen Mountain Cold Process Soap Recipe:
10″ Silicone Loaf Mold
38 oz. Gentle Quick Mix
5.4 oz. Sodium Hydroxide Lye
10.9 oz. Distilled Water (10% water discount)
2.5 tsp. Sodium Lactate
2 oz. Evergreen Forest Fragrance Oil
1 tsp. Green Chrome Oxide Pigment
1 tsp. Black Oxide
1 tsp. Titanium Dioxide
1 tsp. Zippy Blue Pigment
Super Pearly White Mica
Powder Duster

Hello, Anne-Marie! My name is Chloe Lee, and I have just gotten out of college with a degree in chemistry. I have a question for you, the Soap Queen. If you didn’t know, the lyophilic heads in the different oil-lye molecules is what grasps to the water when you wash your hands. However, to my research, sweet almond oil diminishes the lyophilic heads, which makes it hard to wash it off your skin or to get even bubbles. So, have you noticed differences in different types of oils, or as in this one, no oils at all? I normally use olive oil, which is called a “soft liquid” oil. This is because it can’t harm the molecules in between the lye, unlike sweet almond oil. So, something I would love to see is trying hard and soft oils when you are mixing colors, no oils at all, adding it directly to the soap, and this is all during the color mixing process Thank you, Chloe Lee (Student for University of Utah)

So with the mica powder sprinkled on top of the soap...none of it will fall off once you pull the loaf/bars out of the mold (after gel phase) right? I've been tempted to try it, but REALLY worried about having to clean up a disastrous mess. lol
