Another Breakdown - Flat Leaf Springs

Just for this reason when we travel in our travel trailer, I carry 2 spare leaf springs, U bolts, equalizer, shackles and bolts. If you are out in the middle of nowhere on a weekend, try finding leaf springs for your travel trailer. I ordered all my stuff during the winter months when we had it in storage and I keep them with us when we travel. In addition, I carry all the tools necessary to change one in the event one of them should break. If one breaks, you are dead in the water for the most part. Even if you don't know how to change a leaf spring, are physically unable or don't have the necessary tools, any repair shop could change them out for you....provided you had the parts.

Thankfully you weren't stranded on the side of the road. The repairs are a hassle but it's a good thing it all worked out and no one got hurt. It is impressive how much Abby is willing to try new foods.

Wow iv haven't had to replace my leaf springs iv had 15 years and it's 2003,and 32 footer. Hope they can get it done for u guys that's not good. That's not bad Asa 700 dollars that's great deal,thank u for fixing the camper Mr mechanic too bad u all where not in Mas my husband said he would have helped u guys out and u could have parked the camper right in the field. God bless u all got it fixed they look like they needed it while ago

I have seen those parts before... Asa I am thrilled you didn't FLIP Out, That would be something My BF would do and it really unnerves me when he does. It not only stresses me out but also makes for a horrible time. Being you didn't FLIP Out it made it a more pleasant time with the family while waiting for repairs.. We(anyone)can not take a trip(overnight or extended)and not expect soooome kind of mishap!! Whether it be ⛽ prices jump/something hit windshield/nail in tire/no AC/heat.. I Always tell him bf any road trip that I am taking the Zero Balance CC in case of emergencies, and still Pray 😁 Happy Travels 🇺🇲🇺🇲

Can we appreciate the thoughtful communication though. Most people would just flip out and stress and take it out on the other person. Oh man I'm sorry to hear this. Our TT was built in March 2020. We have been traveling full time 16 months now & literally moving to a new location every 3 to 21 days. I can't believe Grand Design is this troublesome. Hope nothing else breaks after this! At least it's not like back in the day when you're AC broke on the GMC & you nearly couldn't afford to fix it.

I blew my tranny in the British Columbia mountains. Ended up getting a 2 nd hand tranny but wouldn't arrive for a week. So I had to rent a truck to get us where we were going. Mechanics were too busy so the guy from an auto wrecker put it in. $1200. later.

Carlisle is a beautiful historic town. We do a lot of business in the Carlisle and Hershey/Harrisburg areas. I don't think that price was too bad for being an emergency service. It's really nice for them to accommodate you as I'm sure they were very busy. Hopefully rest of your trip is uneventful! 🙂
