I used to work for Alfa Romeo and have been a fan for years. I'm so glad to see what you are doing with this Alfa build. I've never built a car from scratch but I've built and worked many racing Alfa's. I know how you feel when it all comes together. There were times when I just sat and looked at what I had done. Ant, I'll bet you do the same. Great work!

Nice one, it's an awesome feeling when you create something from bits of other things and it all works well together, a few weeks ago it was nothing more than a few bits of scrap metal, now it's a running driving car, great work, and you could see how everyone involved is as excited as you are Ant.

Ant, I’ll be totally honest when you took over from Ed I thought “bit of a plonker” but I apologise full heartedly after following this build with your knowledge, methodical approach and passion, you have reset the bar to a very high level in a very down to earth way. Cannot wait to see the final result in all its glory - hats off to you (do not let Mike Brewer drive it as he will wreck your piece of motoring art!!) 😎

I have to admit that I was totally in the old Wheeler Dealer camp for a while after Ant started, but I'll be honest, I absolutely love the guy, even more after watching his reaction to his creation firing up. He has such a passion for cars that literally lights up his face, and he's such a nice guy. I love Edd, but I love Ant just as much. He's brought such energy to the show, and if I'm honest, I think it needed it. I hope this show goes on with Mike and Ant for at least another 10 years. All the best lads.

Very well said! Although sadly they recently announced that the show will move back to the UK, and Ant will stay in America. Elvis, the guy who did Wheeler Dealers Dream Car will take over unfortunately.

@@Cydro12 Yeah, I saw that not long after making the above comment. Such a shame, the show was great. Will see what Elvis brings, as I've not seen much of him, but seems like another cracking bloke.

As a guy who has also built cars i can confirm that there is no better feeling in the world than hearing your project car splutter into life, it suddenly makes the days, weeks, months, years of blood sweat and tears all just blow away, youre then overwhelmed by all the emotions and all sorts of things run through your mind but mostly is a big sense of pride that you, just some average dude has learnt the skills in order to create life to a bunch of metal components, something that will continue to create life in everybody who drives it. Truly a beautiful thing! And this video captures Ant go through this exact process 😎👌 congrats to Ant and team on a fantastic build!

Brilliant! This type of mechanical/visceral experience has been lost with modern cars. It's not about outright performance, it's about the feeling of driving a machine. Every car company should build an old school sports car from their past. Stripped down. No barn burning hyper car thank you.
