I suffered from anxiety & depression for decades from trauma , brain injury , and adrenal hormonal imbalance . I was at a funeral today and I’m so proud of myself because my heart was racing I was sweating but I did positive self talk I calmed down and I was able to get through the funeral ! So proud of myself ! I’m correcting hormonal cortisol imbalances with diet rest and exercise . 54 years old and lost 50 pounds thank God !

Oh wow, I need this right now. I’m 62 and have to make huge decisions and feel out of control, I shake all the time. I feel as though I’m not going to make it after so many years of severe depression and anxiety that brings me to my knees. The talking to myself “Come on, you can do it” doesn’t work anymore. I walk every day and exercise but now I’m so in to my own head all the time, I can’t relax. Years of abuse, debilitating depressions and scared to death about what’s going to happen to me. I have to make big decisions and do everything as to not face anything. Can’t get away from thinking I’m too old, it’s too late, I’m a massive failure…debilitating.

Planning some big big changes but I struggle with chronic generalized anxiety. Thank you. I'm at the beginning of this now and you may be saying the same thing later on but how I overcame anxiety and depression (often 2 sides of the same thing) was to learn to meditate and get present and then to engage the frequencies of the heart...there are different practices and ways to go about it but I love and use "Heart-Brain Coherence" and I can virtually guarantee if you do this practice as recommended in time your anxiety/depression will vanish to be replaced by the beautiful frequencies of the heart in elevated gratitude, appreciation and love. Namaste

I don't know if you will see this comment, but I want to tell you a) you are amazing! b) 3 days ago I quit a green habit that I was using as a coping mechanism and allowing me to be complacent with my wreck of a life, 2 days ago my doctor gave me medication which is actually starting to help (first time in 4 years), yesterday when I was driving in the car a radio podcast came on that I desperately needed to hear in order to help my depressed teen child and today, as I got in the car your TED talk on getting what you want, came on, and I am so endlessly grateful to G-d and you for being a warrior of light in the darkness. TBH my words can't do how I feel any justice. Thank you for existing and thank you for fighting! Love from Dev

I love this Mel , I’m glad I found you ,, I often wondered where my anxiety came from and with your videos I realized it was from a terrible sexual experience that ended in disaster for me when I was a teenager it changed me fir ever I was never the same person after it it still haunts me today only I’m better at not blocking it out , I hated myself for a long time after and didn’t respect myself anymore I still struggle with saying I’m a good person I deserve respect, that’s really hard still and I’m 56 , I do have a loving husband and great kids but now I know where it started from and I’m still struggling with it so it’s great to listen to you as often as I can so thank you Mel xx

There is different levels of anxiety, I was a caregiver for my mother for 9 years, I would go months or years without a day off ! When I finally put her in a nursing facility I was literally shaking all over ! The first thing I would tell people is do things to counter your stressful situation ! Spend as much time outdoors as possible whether it is exercise or physical labor which is best do it. Do diaframic breathing meditation. Get massages, stay away from negative people and turn the news off ! Don't allow yourself to be overworked by anybody ! Lastly take 500 MG of gaba with taurine and b6, magnesium supplements can help greatly but check with your doctor ! Drink lots of water, no caffeine or soda and eat healthy, try to cut out sugar and white flour. Lastly keep your since of humor watch funny movies.

I just have to say that I have spolen to several professionals who agree with me that anxiety does not always start with a thought, a worry or evern in the brain. Sometimes anxiety is triggered by hormone imbalance and can wreak havoc on your body. Hence why doctors tend to prescribe psych meds for women in peri/ menopause. It could very well be high cortial or low progesterone or a thyroid issue.

@albinophilip8 ай бұрын
Same here, it’s because your brain is trained to think that when your heart rate goes up it’s anxiety, because that’s what happened when you have a panic attack. What helped me is retraining my brain into thinking it’s not anxiety my heart is racing to help my anxiety. Kinda laugh at yourself once you feel that panic come and tell it this anxiety I can control because I’m creating it I have a hold over you not the other way around. Hope that helps
