This is so helpful thank you. I've inherited an old shed on an allotment which has a horrible damaged door and I'd like to make a new one for it but wasn't sure how. I think I will give this a try, thank you.

It would have been great to see white trim on the door, a new dark roof and a weather vane on top, but I know life gets busy.....

You left a 3/8” gap all around. I’m following this for putting a new door on my shed. The opening is flush all the way around. But I’m doing it for a sauna so I ultimately want it to be “weather sealed.” Can I make the gap smaller? Thoughts?

instead of making the gap smaller, which may cause some fit issues later on, try to use a door seal or weather stripping
