I LOVE Broccoli Salad so much...
@jonathan_nc9 күн бұрын
My Granny used Jiffy Piecrust Mix for her fried apple pies and Crisco to fry them in. Her apples were usually very small White Transparent apples from the tree near their garden. She used lots of sugar because those apples were very tart. She never used cinnamon. They cooked down into preserves like you said. Her rolling pin was wooden and may have once belonged to my great-grandmother. We all loved her fried pies that she called "snit pies." Hope they all enjoyed your pies and broccoli salad at the get-together.

I make the broccoli salad just for me, it isn’t my wife’s favorite. I always thought that I was the only one that liked a little bacon grease in the salad. It adds more flavor. Thanks for sharing that tip. I use dry roasted Sunflower seeds for my nut of choice in this salad.

I have a marble one also and HATE it and I am going to get a thinner one!!! My sister knows the artist, writer and singers on lots of songs. I know quite a few of the old ones, but not these new folks. Thanks for the video Tammy and Chris!

My mother in law used to make fried apricot pies for her kids. She used dried apricots and cooked them. Then put them in pie crust. Broccoli salad is one of my favorites.

I love broccoli salad 🥦 😋!! They do sell it in the deli at my local grocery store and every time I go in there, I buy it. I know homemade is better but it's just me here and it's just easier for me to buy it in a smaller size container I can eat that same day for lunch or supper. Hope y'all enjoy your evening and thanks for sharing these delicious recipes 😊 ❤

Just had both of these items Saturday at our annual fishing club banquet. The broccoli salad was a huge hit and for me, was the best dish on the table! Now I’m going to be making this on a regular basis. (The pies were great too!😃)

Your video made me think about when I was a child we would go down south every year to Tennessee for our family vacation and my great aunt would make us fried apple pies to take home. She would have a big table in the front yard and dry the apples under the sun. When we brought them back to Ohio most people at that time (early 70’s) had never heard of a fried apple pies😊 Great Job!l Take Care!

My family and I love broccoli salad, but only if basalmic vinegar is used. I used apple cider vinegar once, and everyone complained about the taste. I'm from eastern Ky, and my mother made us fried apple pies while growing up. I make them also, and we all love them. Enjoy your videos.

My aunt Ethel made fried pies from apples off their trees. They weren't very sweet, they were tart but I could've eaten them all day. Who cares if yours opened up? As long as the filling stayed inside. They look flakey & delicious😋. I've added the broccoli salad ingredients to my next grocery haul☺. Thanks!❤
