Uh you know in situations like this you can have the police forcefully evict the squatters right? No need to sell the house. She's got proof of their plot through texts etc, so I doubt she'd have issue I don't understand why the characters in these stories don't do that and instead just... Move out and sell their new home It's dumb

In my area, you can't, squatters have insane rights. They can't live there 6 months. I do know in Florida, they are changing the squatters laws but even they can stay and not be evicted immediately. We had some cases of the home owner getting arrested for trying to kick people out of their home

Where I am it’s so bloody hard to get squatters out due to the rights they for some reason were given. They had to completely block off one of the buildings in town due to squatters moving in for 6 months and destroying the place

"I tried to get the wedding cancelled but I couldn't so instead we are going to have to have a divorce." You can cancel the wedding, you just have to pay a hefty fine, which would be on him. Also, you can get a divorce whether the wedding is cancelled or not. One is not contingent upon the other. #3. The MIL had her own home which she would have had to sell, so she did have money, and MIL and her son and daughter could have afforded a decent place to live giving them time to get well-paying jobs. Two of them could certainly afford a decent apartment with the high-schooler sister working part time as many of that age do. The comment about the ex-husband's new wife being ugly and stupid was just uncalled for. The story was so well thought out until the end where it all fell apart. .

For me, what she said at the end came from emotions... We are all guilty of saying things we shouldn't when we are in our feelings. She tried to get an annulment but couldn't... Every state and country have different rules regarding marriages.... Have to remember that she comes from a business oriented family, and who she called was one of their connects... If you listen to the convo she had on the call, she knew them, and they knew her as she did not have to give her name...

That might be the case where you are from, but it's not the same everywhere. Here in the UK it can take years to get rid of squatters thanks to legal issues.

What her husband and inlaws did was quite despicable and sneaky. However, the comment in 'after that' is hypocritical. She says, "If you want something you need to earn it yourself. You can't expect to get a free ride." Well, she didn't earn the house herself, her daddy bought it for her. One should live by their own words. Lastly, why was she calling his new wife ugly and stupid? What did the woman do to her? Unless their is info missing about an affair, than the new wife has nothing to do with the situation. Those comments show that it does indeed bother her.
