I truly appreciate the Princeton Review keeping students updated! These weeks have been very stressful for upcoming juniors, like myself, and it’s important for us to stay hopeful! ~ I wish everyone the best!

wouldn't it be a disadvantage for juniors if pass fail thing wont be included into your gpa because there are some juniors who worked hard during the spring but now realizing that those efforts gone to waste?

Great question! It's true that their work wouldn't be reflected in their GPA-and that's unfortunate. But keep in mind that those same students are likely to get incredible letters of recommendation from their teachers and earn high exam scores (on Subject Tests, AP exams, etc.). Efforts won't go to waste; they may just be redirected. Best of luck to you during this challenging time. We're rooting for you.

I feel like it's going to be super suspicious if I get a 4 or a 5 on my AP exams even though I have a low/failing grade in my actual class.

If my school only offers normal courses, will it affect my admissions decision?

Since there will not be a heavy emphasis on grades and standardized tests, do you think UC applications will be more strict when reading the personal essays and extracurriculars

is there a chance that colleges may take more closer look at senior year grades

For the free response questions, will they be be the same kind of questions as the free response questions usually on the test? ie. for AP World History Modern will they be similar to the FRQs?

We don't know what the questions are going to be, but the College Board will be releasing more information tomorrow.

I know this may be a question you cannot answer yourself, but in the special case, do you still see universities other than in the UC system following the test optional format for the class of 2021?
@ThePrincetonReview4 жыл бұрын
There are other universities that are doing this for the incoming 2021 cohort (including Boston University, Oregon State University, and others). That being said, test-optional simply means that students have the option of whether to take the SAT/ACT. Given that many classes have become pass/fail and extracurriculars have been canceled, the SAT or ACT may present a great opportunity for students to distinguish themselves in the college process. But ultimately, at those test-optional schools, students will get to decide-and we applaud those schools for giving students this choice during a stressful and challenging time. Students will not be penalized if they opt not to take the SAT/ACT when applying to a test-optional school-so every student should make the choice that is best for him/her/them.

Sir I'm a new one in this field and want to take the sat examination. Currently I'm student in high-school and in going pass the AISSCE Exam in the march of 2021. So when should I take the SAT and AP Exam so that I can get into a colledge in United States.

My goal is to get a 1300 on the SAT, but I score around the 1100. Do you think if I join princeton review I will be able to get the target score
