Nba Players who never attained multiple championships, back to back chips, 3peats or Dynasties will never understand or put high value on such things. They will put more value on the accumulation of individual stats because those things are closer to home for them, relatable, in their wheelhouse #lmao It's funny and unfortunate to observe. People who understand the wholeness of basketball as a team sport with players with Elite Leadership know that Individual Stats, Accolades + Winning Finals Records, 3peats and Dynasties reign supreme. Truth be told, players with Losing Finals Records and No Dynasty do not belong on the Rushmore of Basketball or the Top 5. The Sports Industry chose Lebron as their ca$hcow and created the biggest Sports Media Propaganda Campaign ever. Lebron is great but real ones know its Jordan and Kobe and then everyone else. Jordan and Kobe are the most skilled and spectacular 2-Way (Offensive + Defensive) Juggernauts that produced Winning Finals Records, 3peats and Dynasties for their Teams in a Team Sport.

That should've been a wake up call for every fan of the game. I hated Kobe during most of his career and hated Steph for years. Dudes are amazing talents and to attempt to downplay it is simply depriving yourself of some great moments. Over so many generations and so many all time greats, there isn't a realistic wide difference between Bron, MJ and Kobe. You can favor whichever you like but they are collectively the greatest players I've personally seen play and it's been a fucking pleasure

This was an amazing take. KG really has passion mixed with compassion. SAS always making valid points but KG making even better points. It's all about perception and we really can't know how other people feel unless we ask them. Some recieve tough love well, some buckle under pressure, some feel inadequate when the microscope is on them, some get better with that chip on their shoulder, some need rivalry to unlock the beast, and some might need a genuine one on one with someone that truly believes in their potential. It's all about perception and adapting under any circumstances.

His passion and faith in todays/future game of the NBA is on par with the passion he had and approach he had to the game. KG was my favorite big to watch growing up TD was just too sterile his tape had no soul KG on national TV was box office He banged against 90s greats and ppl like LBJ and ppl that tried to compete with LBJ in his era. Growing up a lakers/Kobe stan was tuff knowing deep down LBJ was the real thing its just something that was hard to admit...for him to lace up as a Laker and be about until his last game really proved it to me as a fan as if he had to go out of his way to do so. To me those moves/acts are what put him on a different level, or winning with rondo as lakers. Just some ball lore nerd stuff that makes you really appreciate this era for what it was and where its heading.

Hard for me not to remember Lebron was the youngest to each scoring milestone when he hit it. 3 finals mvps on 3 different organizations. (Much harder). Leading BOTH finals teams in points, assist, steals, blocks, AND rebounds coming back down from 3-1 (first and only). Scoring the most points and passing mj in points taking 1200 less shots 😅 and Lebron highlights just hit different Mj wasn’t shooting the logo shots and dunking like Lebron. Lebron having the higher basketball iq telling opponetS plays out lol. Being the oldest to do everything and play greater Than anyone in year 21. #4 in assist…. Jordan is the beneficiary of multiple things. 1. The time period. This was before social media. Everyone was just locked in to whatever was current. Much less distractions, much less things to take up peoples attention. This certainly added to the “myth” of Jordan. 2. Jordan’s relevance continues due to his sneaker branding causing his name to stay relevant. 3. He has time working in his favor. His last dance documentary was aired, and we have had a chance to hear the personal stories. In other words his legacy has had time to be built. Lebrons greatness won’t be appreciated until he retires and we have time to take in his accomplishments. And as the 35 and under generation takes over the media airways we will see much more consensus as Lebron being GOAT Edit: I do think Jordan had the best PEAK of all time

Why has Jordan shoes dominated to this day over the queen? Why do so many young people still see Michael Jordan as the Goat, even the queen's fans? The objective ones do anyway. It's like Mandy said, The Goat was ahead of his time. I don't care how the queen tries to whine and cry and beg people to respect him. That's exactly why he doesn't get the respect he wants, because he is fake and desparate, he always will be. The Goat has done nothing but sit back and allow others to tout his greatness. That's what makes Jordan so special, is because the Bulls team wasn't stacked like the Boston Celtics with Bill Russell for all those years. So Jordan didn't start winning right away but once he started he couldn't be stopped. If Jordan didn't need to take that year off when his Dad passed, the Bulls had a great chance of winning 7 straight Championships. There's no way we could be comparing LeBron to that. Somehow though they're still trying to compare LeBron to this man that three peated twice. The man that everyone says doesn't look human and seems to levitate in their presence, Michael Jordan. And we're still so memorized by Jordan because with all the great talents there is in the NBA today, we still haven't seen a dude perform like Mike. Minus the Championships Jordan is the greatest mother f er, i ever seen dribble a basketball. The Championships just make him even greater, especially with the teammates he was able to pull it off with.

💯 Completely agree. And just because someone appreciates or has an opinion on things or people from the past, that doesn't mean that they don't appreciate or are disrespecting the present. One can have an opinion and still appreciate and respect both eras for their own greatness or whatever.

I love KG. He's not one of those sour old retired nba players that Studdard when speaking about the greatness of these new era greatness! We ain't NEVER seen a Steph in the history of the game. You have to remember the IQ of the players with respect to the game in this era is so much more high than back in the day. Players now have effective pump fakes, slides, shoves, technics, shots, etc...
@bistro25
@bistro25 6 ай бұрын
🧢, they have more freedom of movement, their IQ have diminished, because of less practice & play time, Russ, James & the 👑 are 3 of the most decorated players of this generation, they have 3 of the worst assist to turnover ratios in history, and on the list for most, don't use , the USAGE argument, because CP3, has 1 of the Best ✔️

Right! Players are way more skilled today. Definitely have a bigger IQ than past players. More athletic and faster too. That's why we have guys like the KDs, Chet, Wemby, Porzingis, Jokic, AD. Literally 6'10 hybrid players. 90s wouldn't know what to do but play a zone and foul when they come into the paint. Lol
@trip7779
@trip7779 6 ай бұрын
true, but I'm not speaking about stats. Strictly just talent. Look how explosive West Brook is, I don't think we've seen anyone explode at that capacity, in terms of his drives to the basket, don't forget he's also got the most triple-doubles in the history of the game. Some of these things go over our heads because of other emotional things. yes, we would like him to show up every game, but trust me with all the media scrutiny and lights on you, it's hard for anyone to get out of slumps or perform on a consistent basis, but what I can never take from the guy is his energy and how he goes hard every possession on both ends, even if he doesn't score. For Harden, his game his just wack. Once the league stopped calling those weak fouls (which were mostly offensive fouls in my opinion), he was done!@@bistro25
@trip7779
@trip7779 6 ай бұрын
I agree 100%. Imagine Steph was playing in the 80s & 90s with the same talent as now, They would simply just want to injure and take him out lol, because they wouldn't know what to do with that. One thing I would give the older generation players in their era over today is their drive to want to succeed. Money was not handed over to them for just showing up. They had to play their butts off. Today the media already super hype players before drafted or as a rookie and sometimes that mounts pressure for these players to succeed and some of them are not built that way (Anthony Davis) LOL... just kidding@@pmontyjaaaymes488

What KG brought up is the correct conversation. Some people believe that league was “picked up and carried”, when others believe, “ the league has gone down on where the league was”, and that’s what the argument is. And the problem is, we, the ones that believe the league is not as great anymore as once have, we have the evidence to show how the league indeed is softer and has less commitment and seriousness.

When Mike was doing his thing, he wasn't disrespecting other legends. That's what some of these kids are up to now. That's what has us old heads riled up. We would love to sit back and appreciate what we're seeing now. But as soon as we do, here come the new school fans or players, disrespecting the old school for no reason.

Its the people who don't know what they're talking about. Nothing about what we're saying about the 80's/90's, MJ, Dominique, Stockton, and etc..is disrespectful. We've said that the rules were tougher because, ON VIDEO, you can see people get clothes-lined, elbowed, bloodied, and etc...now, you barely touch someone and its a foul. Its not an opinion, its video proof but they think we are hating. They say that this Era was tougher, we don't say anything because we know better. They new gen can like this era, that's fine, but don't say its harder when video proof show that it isn't.
