Saw an interview with Jeri Ryan. She'd spent years complaining about how uncomfortable the Cat Suit was. Then in this episode she learned what the rest of the cast had been wearing(Starfleet Uniforms) and found it wasn't much better.

It's called plot armor. If the threat was that dire, it certainly warranted the kill setting, which would resolve the matter. So of course they use stun, even though it's demonstrably ineffective (inexplicably). They do this because they weren't creative enough to make the story work if they didn't. This sort of bad writing, along with the endless spew of technobabble, was what caused me to stop watching Voyager.
@FFKonoko
@FFKonoko 4 жыл бұрын
@@Hibernicus1968 the problem was that they wrote to reach a goal. They came up with an idea then fudged things to get to it. It's why characters so often suddenly gained interests or knowledge, because a single episode required it, or why they kept losing shuttles to set up stranded episodes. Voyager had some decent premises but it consistently broke them or failed to deliver for that reason.

i believe he had body armor/ personal shielding to help him withstand phaser shots and she could have been using a lower setting to make sure he was still alive. the goal was to incapacitate and capture him to save voyager had he died it would have meant the time stream would still be heavily polluted with paradoxes making it a very weak point in time which could be taken advantage of.

@@tatianaleutwiler1867 During Enterprise though they say in 300-500 years they could only project image and voices through time and in 900 years they can send people so somewhere between then it was common but regulated. BUT..this is according to Federation, in Alpha and Beta quadrants. Voyager also had primodial fish mutants so I shouldn't think too hard.

Excellent security response by Tom Paris and the rest of the Voyager crew, stuck on the other side of the galaxy tens of thousands of light years away from other humans and they see a person in a Starfleet uniform they don't recognize on their ship and they go "who are you?" instead of immediately jumping on the obvious intruder.

Braxton was right, his job would have been much less complicated without Janeway meddling and turning every issue into something far worse. Even if murdering them all was a bit too much, it could be explained with his mental state after living for years in the 20th century. I lived there, it was not good for my mind.
