Problem is in the US we have also most zero Aprilia dealers. Regardless how amazing she looks and dances good luck getting any service or support. I am running into the same problem with my Ducati 1299. Ive been so lucky to find a reliable local mechanic who dosn't ask me to remove a testicle with service cost.

Unless you live on the east coast, you're absolutely right. I live in south central Pennsylvania, and have 2 dealers within a 2 hour drive. One is 45 minutes away. See, this enables stupid toy purchases....which is both awesome, and causes contention with the missus.

I was gonna get this but went with a 2017 leftover RF for 17k us, and got the factory race ECU, full Akra, filter and bazzaz fuel controller, plus Oz Gas wheels(3lbs lighter per wheel) and 520 conversion among other things. All coming in under the price of this kit. Including ohlins race fork kit and ttGP rear shock.

Maybe will be Nice to say that Aprilia has a Version of close to 250 BHP based on the RSV4 with pneumatc Valve it call RSV 4 GP this in Video is the Allmoust the Standart Version for the Track.

We've asked Aprilia if we can test one of those, but they've said no. It's made-to-order bike only (although I'm not sure if they've actually made any), so it's as good as doesn't exist, unlike the BMW.

Allegedly there is one RSV4 GP that was sold to a person in Taiwan. He posts his bike on Instagram sometimes. Maybe a trip to Taiwan is in order? I think the most fair comparison for the HP4 Race from Aprilia would be the RSV4 SBK version - IIRC that is also about 70ish grand euro? I think there should be a few SBK versions out there, would be great if you guys could get a hand on one to do a comparison. Did you guys manage to attend the GYTR Yamaha R1 day? Another track special bike. The best comparison would be the GYTR R1 vs RSV4 SBK vs HP4 Race - now Ducati needs to have a public race bike offering for the to be 1000cc Panigale R.

Statement Plus not sure if it would be fair to put the r1 against the HP4 as its only a few upgrades and I think the weight alone gives the hp4 a big advantage and possibly same with rsv4 sbk but I think the GP version would blow it out the water

The GYTR R1 has engine upgrades - the comparison would still be interesting just need to keep the dialogue relative. If the GYTR R1 is only say half a second slower than the HP4, then it's safe to say the GYTR R1 is a very high level. The RSV4 SBK, it has full SBK spec engine (including top end) suspension, brakes and ECU etc. The brakes and suspension on the SBK RSV4 is the same as the HP4 Race but with more advanced electronics (turn by turn aids). That bike should compete with the HP4 if not be quicker.

Aprilia actually makes a direct comparison to the HP4 RACE, it's the FW-GP. They share a similar price point, compare that to the HP4, not a bolt on accessory kit.

neevesybikes there’s one here in America at an Aprilia dealership in Maryland. It’s the first one, the FW SBK. Still unsold and listed at 105k I believe.

I think the FW-SBK is what Neevsy is on. That's the second highest spec, which costs 35K. The FW-GP is the top spec, closer to 100k.

Ayush Sharma the GP was the second iteration of the FW high end bike. The first one was the FW-SBK with a longer Akro can for model year 2016. The GP has the shorter exhaust can and came in 2017. Both were the 100k 250HP version. There is one of each listed on CycleTrader.com. The GP is listed at Scuderia West in San Francisco and the SBK is in stock at Xtreme Powersports in Accident, Maryland.

And probably won't be ! I love Norton but they never seem to be able to finish a bike to get it delivered on time - but as theirs is based on the Aprilia it would be a close call

If you think service and support is tough on an Aprilia, Norton will be around to help like a drug addled and drunk absentee father. No where to be found unless you live by the factory and have a key to the building. Plus you'll have to be a mechanic and do your own work.

DONALD TRUMP Newer Ducatis are actually pretty reliable IMO. Ducati has a better dealer network in my area too. I really REALLY love Aprilla though.

I have a hot start issue. It went through two dealers both said it was diffrent things.They ended up changing all sorts of parts and testing as they went. They said they had sorted it i got it back it was at best a little better. Service notice appears one day and it starts reving itself. 3 times it has done that. Turn it off and its fine. Some times when restarting it dosent pull right it bogs. You have to turn it off and wait for it to cool. Then the stator burned out. Aprilia new the fly wheel they were using was defective.But still used them anyway. until all that stock was used. Then they started putting the updated version in the bikes and charge all the suckers that got the shitty ones a small fortune for the part that should have been in the bike in the 1st place. When this bikes going with no problems.It is amazing!!! Is the trade worth it ??? for me. NO! i will never go near an Aprilia again.

Scott Thomson Most newer Ducatis in the US have that problem, though it mostly caused by a POS carbon filter canister thing that California makes them install.

Scott Thomson similar situation to what I had , bike cutting out at speed and needing to re start her . Dealer could not fix the issue after 7 attempts, each one meaning a 180 round trip for me . Ended up selling it back to them for 1500 less than I bought it 6 months later . Great bike when it's working
