Thank you for this, been excited to see you all play. And impressive to see you do it in all one day. Wish I could have been there watching live but having to watch 30min snippets when I get time. Certainly semicooperative element to this Act 1, everyone using and feeding off the empire. Rooting for the believer!

With the campaign, it’s really interesting that you can see Cole’s past designs in this. I see elements of Pax Pamir, Root, Oath and John Company all mixed in together to make a wholly different experience.

lol. I like how Edward suggested that the damage from flames on assault dice are because you guns overheat rather then you getting hit by the enemy. Really appreciate the clear rules explanation! Great times!

Wow, how round 2 ended was brutal! Loved the video, thanks! I _really_ want to play this one, another great from Cole. I like how Jon plays; dominating one ambition, making sure to get the initiative early on, and getting cities out for their bonuses.

3:15:35 3:15:59 Agents on a Vox card should be returned when their crisis effect removes them from play unless they specifically say otherwise. For example, Council Intrigue moves agents on it to Imperial Council. Blight Looms doesn't say to transfer agents to the new court card, so you should follow the rule book procedure and return all agents: Court Crises pg. 18 Removing Cards: If a Crisis removes a card from the Court, return all agents on it and draw a card from the Court deck to refill the Court. 3:18:00 Oh you caught it later, should have kept watching.

Since you showed the storage solution between acts, allow me to ask a game material question. If I were to play the campain using the extra figures from the miniatures pack, would I be able to play the base game between acts? Or are there still other base game components like ressources "locked up" in the campain storage box? Of course there always is the possibility to throw some placeholders into the campain box to free up components, but that kinda defeats the purpose of having a neat storage solution.
@Heavycardboard5 ай бұрын
I get what you’re asking, but no, you’re going to have the cities, star ports, resources and more all locked up/mixed in the storage containers. Not to mention the deck having additional cards in it and some of the lore cards mixed in with the Court cards. I THINK the purpose of the storage solution is to make it very quick and easy to set up for following campaign games. Hope that helps!

@@Heavycardboard Thank you, that answers my question. I thought there might be some duplicates of base game components in the expansion box but it's called an expansion for a reason.

4:05:50 I believe there was a rule violation involving a verbal agreement on Ken's turn. I don't think Kyle or Edward noticed the exchange between Ken and Jon. During Ken's prelude, he offered to use his Protector Golem action to repair some of Jon's ships in return for some favors. After they came to an agreement of two repairs for one favor, Jon immediately placed an agent on Ken's fate card to uphold his end of the deal. While there's no rules against making an agreement like this, I don't think Jon could fulfill the agreement at that time. I believe the only time you can move or place or trade pieces is when a rule specifically allows you to do so. The "Promise Favor" negotiation action that places an agent from your supply on a rival's fate card, is only allowed to be used during a Summit. You can make a verbal agreement that you will give someone a favor, but you can't literally give them the favor token until a summit is called, and your agreement to do so would not be binding. And because the Call to Action comes before the Negotiations, they would be unable to return the favor and force a specific negotiation action from you until they call another summit. Though they could try to negotiate with you during the same summit, you could still refuse during that summit. Since Act I ended without another summit after they made that agreement, Ken shouldn't have ended Act I with that favor token from Jon. Though he may still try to hold Jon to that agreement during a later summit.

One other minor mistake, that ultimately didn't change anything, was made at the end of Chapter 3. When Jon decided to pass after Kyle and Edward both passed, he should have given the Initiative marker to the next player that still had cards and then ended the current round which would then end the chapter. Kyle should have had the initiative going into the chapter 3 scoring. This didn't change anything here, as Jon won the initiative back by having the most power, but forgetting to do this could have an affect in other games. First of all, if the game doesn't end after everyone passes, forgetting this last pass would change who gets to lead the first action card in the next chapter. Second, forgetting this can affect who wins ties for most power at the end of a game. Ties are broken based on each tied player's position in the turn order, which is determined by who currently has the initiative marker. And if this is the final scoring a single-session game or Act III of the campaign, who wins a tie for the most power can determine who wins the game or campaign.

If the C Fates are so powerful, is there a reason why players wouldn't intentionally fail in previous rounds to ensure they get a C Fate in Act 3?
@JonArt_As_Board5 ай бұрын
You can change into C fate even if you win. They are powerful, but difficult. Plus, you may not want to switch to see how your story ends :)

That is a big question my playgroup had as well. I guess we have to find out if that becomes a go-to strategy... which would suck, because it's very anticlimactic to throw your game away just to have another shot

I don't think you added new blight from the last crisis, I believe new blight should have been added to sector 3 and hexagons.
@EnergySurge4 ай бұрын
New Blight isn't added during a Blight Crisis. The Blight merely attack ships during a Blight Crisis. The reason Blight were added in a previous crisis was due to a Court Crisis on a Vox card. The Blight Looms card has a crisis that repairs all damaged Blight and then adds a damaged Blight to the each system with the rolled symbol that doesn't have Blight. Then the card is buried at the bottom of the Court Deck. That card wasn't in the court during the last crisis, so no new Blight was added.
