Are eBay coilovers good? Got scammed AGAIN. REV9 Review

Are eBay coilovers good? I bought the $399 REV9 coilovers thinking I could actually get away with it. Spoiler alert, I got scammed and the seller kept HALF, AFTER I returned them... I bought the Megan Racing coilovers and all is well... ish.

Wow I really LOVE how this all turned out. First of all: Those wheels are very beautiful. Good choice. I love how they look. About your Coilovers: wow I gotta say you two are amazing. I would have given up after the ebay scam and taken the 200$. But you two kept working on it and the results are astonishing. You returned those scam-coils and bought something you're happy with. You both don't let yourself down and keep working until it works out. Sometimes it feels impossible for you, but you don't give up. That's why I love to watch your videos! Everytime you're surprising me and you're motivating me to work on my projects even tho I feel like I can't go any further. Thank you. I'm excited to see what you're gonna show us in your next video. I wish you good luck and success! Also I've got a quick question: In which color do you want to paint the car? (maybe something like chameleon paint? 😏)

Oh yeah and sorry about the nightmare coilover experience dude! On a good note ive heard good things bout megan racing coilovers. Friend of mine has some on his NA for about 4ish yrs and still going strong. Glad ugot ur money back also!

Oh man sorry, you had to go through that. I looked at those Rev9s and knew something was off right off the back. I didn't know Megan racing had coil overs for the RX8 I thought the company stopped making stuff for the car. Every time I see you working on the 8 makes me want to start again on mine.

That sucks. It seems it just all depends which car you have for rev9’s to work. I’ve had my rev9’s in my g35 for a couple years and even drift it at the track. They’ve taking a beat and I’m surprised they haven’t broke with all the impact they’ve taken

Damn I didn't have the height issues with my fiesta ST set of rev 9's but I did have to drill the top like you did on the rear. You might've had better luck buying direct from rev9 I've heard they've worked with people who've had issues.

Did you you set the spring load on the springs? This is a big step. A lot of people forget to do, and needs to be set at zero, for a stiffer ride Hugo 87-inch tighter. If you don't know what setting preload is watch a video on it, show me some a different inmates on the coilovers. I plan to get that these same Rev 9 my RX-8, and I'll guarantee we'll ride way better than how your setup is right now.

Weird.. I’ve been running REV9 coilovers on my GSR integra for probably about 8 months..daily driven with a lot of spirited driving..never have had a problem with them whatsoever….also installed a set on my GS300 and it’s slammed but not maxed out…also no issue…they both ride smooth with no issues…

I have been running the MaxSpeedingRods ebay coil overs in my RX8 for a year now with no issues, shame the Rev9's are no good but she looks good with the Megans installed.

Glad to hear you aren’t having our issues! They looked to be the same design as the Rev9s so I doubt they would drop as low as the megans. We are running 17s now, so it has to go extra low.

Is the rear maxed out with the Megan’s? Could use another half inch lowering in the back at least

The rears can drop about an inch more, I just lifted it in case the springs settled and dropped too low again. Megans are great

Personally I wouldn’t risk my life on cheap coils. Affordable coils are good tho like Tein Flex Zs, BCs, D2s, Megan racing, etc

Never ever cheap out when it comes to coil overs. Plan on spending at least $2K for a quality set

Rev9 are crap products from a crap company. Had mine installed by a shop and they made horrendous noise since day 1 and felt like my car was riding on bricks. I made a recording of the sound and sent it to them and a couple of weeks later, I replaced them with OEM struts, and guess what? No noise whatsoever. Then I request they send me new struts so at least I can try to sell them and they claim they cannot warranty them now because they aren't on the vehicle (I had told them I swapped them) and that the sound recording isn't proof that they are defective. They think I'm going to reinstall defective struts onto my car again and then "prove" they are bad. I already have. Crap company. Legal actions pending...
