As a PR of Canada, in order to fly to Canada, you need a valid PR card. If not, you may need to apply for a Travel Document. A Travel Document will be issued if you meet the residency requirements.

I have recently landed in Canada a few weeks back, but haven’t received my PR card as yet. I am planning to travel to US for a few months and then come back. If I come back by land can I come back using my COPR? Since I haven’t spent the 2 years in Canada as yet, would I have any issues while coming back?

You should not have any issues as you are a recent permanent residents but its always best to wait to receive the initial PR card before travelling outside of Canada.

Hello! I applied for prtd a couple of weeks ago and it got accepted. I currently an waiting for the IRCC office to send me an email regarding when I can give them my passport but till then I had a quick question. I saw some images on google where the paper version of the PRTD had the number of the flight and most probably when it's taking off (not really sure of the latter), does that mean that I have to travel with that flight even if the expiry date is around 6 months after that?

My PR card expired six years ago. I applied for PRTD now in 2020. I got PR visa or PRTD which is valid for one year. I came back to Canada and now staying for last six months. Can I continue to stay in Canada after one year period of visa or I have to apply for renewal of my PR card to continue to stay in Canada. I have not completed the mandatory period of 730 days in last five years.

Apply PRTD asap to any vac office in Karachi Lahore Islamabad with recent 2 white background photos, pr card copy and proof of residency obligation otherwise use H&C ground. Visa fee is 50 cad plus vac service charges. Send copy of your COPR paper as well.

TheHill Hotel Unfortunately if you are outside of Canada as a refugee you can’t make a refugee in Canada. You would need to be physically in Canada to make such a claim.
