I'm watching this again today, and I thought that cording wauld look great couched along the yellow and green Pat Pauli fabric. Thanks for a very informative video. At 27:40 the dark area you were talking about reminded me of a standing giraffe. I understand that you may not wish to interpret it that way but I remember your interaction with the giraffes in Africa!! They were sooo beautiful.

Add linen pieces ripped and use seam join to advantage ie frayed look

Very interesting to see the photos and results Ariane. Took my improv sampler to show my embroidery friends on Saturday and they said I should frame it!😄. At the moment I'm trying to design a surprise Lap quilt to applique on the old badges from my husband's last RAF years as the plane too ends its Years of Service. I intend embroidering nicknames etc. Not real embroidery as our community recognises and shows on fb but having conceived the idea I'm committed. It's time I made him something!! I'm paying for having had a busy week with low energy, bad heads etc. Hope you're doing better physically despite missing your mum.

I don't. I just stitch directly on the fabric without anything added.

This is very helpful. Are you familiar with On Growth and Form by D'arcy Wentworth Thompson? It is a formidable tome. I have never read much of it, but the diagrams are very inspirational for my designs.
