Their prices are too expensive. You have to get all your own documents plus you have to appear at the consulate.
@DaysWeSpend4 күн бұрын
@@markmark35 Their prices are very competitive with other visa services. Every consulate is different; not all consulates require an in person interview. But the ones that do require it, there is no getting around that requirement.

It is logical that we all try to pay less taxes, but it is also logical that we all understand that paying taxes is necessary. In Spain, the tax burden is below the European average. It is true that in Europe taxes are comparatively high compared to other places in the world, but it is precisely thanks to these taxes that we have good social benefits, good public services and good infrastructure and a low crime rate. In Spain, the wealth tax is only paid on amounts over 700,000 euros, with the habitual residence being exempt. The maximum rates range from 0.2% in the first bracket, up to 2.5% for amounts over 10 million euros, however, as it is a regional tax, the communities governed by the right have significantly lower rates; Madrid in its first bracket is practically zero, for example. Retirees who want to come to live in Spain or Europe in general, must understand that if they want to enjoy our services and social benefits, as well as our public services, infrastructure and our peace of mind, they must contribute by paying taxes, they cannot expect us to welcome parasites. In Spain, health care is free for all residents in Spain and is paid for with general taxes. The Social Security rate is only paid by workers and their companies and it includes retirement, salary in case of sick leave or accident and unemployment insurance.

What is important is to understand what Spain is like, without stereotypes. If you want to move from the USA to Spain, you should find out about the country you are going to live in and make important changes in your daily life. Believe that you will live in Spain with the same rhythms and parameters that the USA is a recipe for failure. And if you don't speak Spanish, your daily life will be complicated.

Agree. Spain is an incredible country if you understand it. Every region is super unique.

Gracias

People from other European countries have always come to live in Spain, which is logical since it is on the same continent. But I don't understand how now more and more people come from the USA, when the distance is much greater and the social systems are so different from Europe. What is the reason for this mass emigration?
@BillySBC5 күн бұрын
Basically because American has gone insane... Seriously, America has lost it's collective mind. I mean we just put a multiple convicted sex offender back in office to be our President. Hope this helps, and see you soon. Thank you.

Most Americans who are leaving the USA are looking for places with a different social structure. They want to live somewhere where healthcare is affordable and they can live without fear of medical debt. They want to live somewhere less car-centric. Or in a place with a better work-life-balance. The USA places a lot of importance on constantly working. Which means there is a lot of room for personal economic growth, but it can be a toxic mindset for your personal life.

Also my wife does not get her pension till February will Spain accept a letter to say she has income or shall we wait to put in our application till February which is about 60 days after the NLV should be renewed and which then she will be being paid her pension, can you advise us thx and great channel to watch

The best advice is not to become a tax resident of Spain. I already have a property for which taxes are very reasonable. But becoming a tax resident is not financially advisable considering the wealth tax, solidarity tax and progressive tax scale. I love Spain, but not enough to lose my hard-earned retirement to excessive taxes. Taxing social security is criminal.
@YakMadrid15 күн бұрын
Franquly, unless you are a pensionist I cannot understand why you said that. Wealth tax depends on where you live. For example in Madrid is a thousandth of your wealth, excluding your house and 600.000 euros. Honestly I dont think is so much. But if you go to Spain to not pay your fair part of taxes, you better stay at your country. It is my humble opinion.
@Possenberg5 күн бұрын
From Social Security: You will pay tax on your Social Security benefits based on Internal Revenue Service (IRS) rules if you: File a federal tax return as an "individual" and your combined income* is Between $25,000 and $34,000, you may have to pay income tax on up to 50% of your benefits. More than $34,000, up to 85% of your benefits may be taxable. File a joint return, and you and your spouse have a combined income* that is Between $32,000 and $44,000, you may have to pay income tax on up to 50% of your benefits. More than $44,000, up to 85% of your benefits may be taxable.

@@YakMadrid1 I don’t want to escape my tax obligations so long as I also benefit from making those tax contributions. But non-residents who become tax residents in Spain don’t get access to sanidad. I would gladly become a resident and pay taxes on my worldwide income. But taxing people for owning assets is absurd. I also don’t believe Spanish citizens should be taxed so extremely either. The wealth tax basically encourages people to stay poor, engage in a cash black market economy or offshore their entrepreneurial endeavors to Ireland, the Caribbean etc. I love Spain, but the tax environment is hurting everyone especially the citizens.
@YakMadrid15 күн бұрын
In Spain Sanidad (Seguridad Social) is a universal right. You just need to be a resident.
@YakMadrid15 күн бұрын
this is simply not true. It would be closer to a 30%. Additionally there is no double taxation with the US.
