If you ever saw the chocolate school reality show, they don't send home the bottom person. They get to stay and compete but aren't eligible to win the prize money. All these shows should do that especially these art based ones. Way to emotional.

John’s showed his true talent. I gasped after the first day! Surreal or not- it was delightful and made by a true master. The colors, composition, so much subject matter to see - it was / is remarkable!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much for this wealth of information. I've been binge watching you and although it's knocked my confidence abit, I can see where I'm going wrong and pushing myself out of my comfort zone and am giving oils another shot, and drawing stuff I know I'm not great at. So thank you, you should all be on T.V.

This comment is totally not about art I started noticimg it during the 1st episode. Every time Eli came on the screen I was drawn in... As she looks so beautiful! Her inner and outer beauty just sings and shines bright. The energy and life coming from her eyes is captivating. I love her haircut and style, it really suits her. I've watched many, many, many Milan videos and I must say you look so very beautiful in these episodes !

Hey Tanner, Thanks for adding this bit at the end, so that we could actually see the paintings that were made in the first episode. Whoever is editing - you really need to SHOW your audience the paintings from the previous episode when you are saying who won, and the order, which Tanner just gave us, should have been provided at the beginning of the episode. I think there could have been several categories to vote for in this particular challenge: I really thought that the Charlie Chaplin (was that Daphni?) was the best executed. Dino's gave me the most initial feeling of a traditional surrealist painting - even the darkness of the painting worked for that somehow (though I can't say that I honestly know many surrealist paintings). Jake's painting was the most playfully surreal, though I too would have liked to see some of the details like the chairs rendered more finely. Dahlia's - the gorilla birthday party (sorry, I get the two girls mixed up - forgive me, I'm an old fart) - for me won the best interpretation of the subjects. It's hard for me to overall chose a finalist of them all, but I'll think about it and go vote.

If I didn’t know the challenge I would vote for John’s or Dino’s. Both are intriguing and pull me into the scene. The others look a bit pieced together. Like they randomly drew ideas out of a hat. lol 😂 the gorilla looks great and that scene is strange but well done. Who will I vote for? Idk. I kinda think Jake’s is really good too. Barb’s endorsement of it may make me pick his. 😉 well done everyone and love the show. ❤

This format is my favourite from the 3 seasons. I just don't like those fake drama, drama reality shows. This feels ,so natural and fun ,the judges are more likable , there are no unnecessary therapy session talking interviews with dramatic adrenalin boosting music. Dafni's was my favorite in this one. Please make the new season similar to this one.

I think Miranda had. GREAT point about how this is supposed to be loosely supervised. This is an abstract. They never said the painting had to be identical to the source. If that were the case then everyone else should be critiqued just as hard as far as their exact specifications. I enjoy these shows, but a running theme in every season is trying to lead them to much. The entire point is to see how the artist would do things. Not how the judges would.

The teacher didn't see that the legs went to the bottom. The artist was trying to tell her.
@TiffanyYoung-bv2gb5 ай бұрын
Ellie was right about the legs, with the foreshortening the calves should have been longer than the thighs because the knees are anatomically in the middle of the leg and with perspective objects gets smaller the further away they are. It’s tricky, but, awesome when well executed. It tends to be a good idea to listen to more experienced/ skilled artists on the fundamentals.

I can see why you had problems with galleries and dealers as the art world is elitist but I dont think you should define what surrealism is. And I can see that most art galleries would not like this type of art. But for the main people this is great. Originality I find missing in this type of art. Now since watching your show a number of times I can appreciate the hard time you would have had with the snobbery involved with gallerie. I paint and am just blessed I guess that the art world in Australia has embraced my art.
@nataliebarat11867 ай бұрын
I agreed with Elli on the legs, but Miranda just kept on arguing her own point, she could just listen to the critique and then do what she wants instead of argue back a few times. I liked the Charlie Chaplin the best for the coloring and rendition and then the Gorilla and the Treehouse, but agree the fact that the treehouse became a bit too dark. I really liked the last few minutes when Tanner told us the last episode votes and showed the paintings again, I like to see the paintings again once they announce the votes.

I like the premise of this show, but I don't quite understand the woman who is creating the challenges and setting the parameters of the challenges, but also dictating to the contestants how she wants them to make their own artwork. It seems contradictory to challenge someone to make artwork that is surreal, then argue with an artist about their style and tell them they're wrong for not drawing or painting something realistically. It's also beyond disrespectful for someone to deface another person's artwork.

I guess I’m the only one, but I did NOT like the treehouse painting. It felt dark to me, not just colors but the soul of the painting. I also did not like the barn one on far left as it was way too busy imo. The Charlie Chaplin was fabulous. I loved the gorilla and the elephant ones. The Mona Lisa might have been my favorite if the painting had looked like the source but something was lost.

well done for creating this series...sorry, but way too bossy as a teacher.....subject matter was really stupid....artists should be free to paint anything and use any medium.....an up and coming artist, should be encouraged to be creative and do as they wish....you keep telling them what to do whilst they are painting.....i wouldn't find you a helpful teacher....
