Ha. Sad story. I always gave my mom pedicures and obvs used Holo Taco. The last pedicure I gave her we used Matcha Maker and she loved it. I loved how much she loved it and how it looked so I painted my toes the same color. Anyway, she passed away a little more than a week ago, very suddenly and that was her last color. I know she was happy to have still looked her best even at her death. So honestly, matcha maker will always have such a sweet spot in my life. ❤️

I work at a grocery store and the reason why we put out Halloween candy so early (like in August) is because the stockroom was getting so hot, that all the candy we received to put out for Halloween was actually melting! They didn’t want to put it out so early, but didn’t really have a choice or they would lose the product. Maybe something similar was happening in Ottawa!

It's absolutely true, the phenomenon is seen specially when it comes to child behavior, many times seen as problematic tendencies or going at a slower pace than the rest is seen as a pathological problem (which has to be evaluated case to case), and also "social media therapists" (tiktok, ig) have a thing for making regular behaviors o feelings into a pathological matter

I appreciate that you post about your charity work. First of all, you are not doing it in a self-aggrandizing way. The meal tab makes sense because people need to KNOW they exist. For the Mechie Gang donations, we WANT to know where our membership funds are going. For me personally, I often get a lot of compassion fatigue with all the awful things going on in the world, but I also can't donate to every single cause or I wouldn't be able to sustain my own life. Having a place to donate $5 a month and see it go to a good cause each month gives me a sense of making a difference, even though it's not a ton, because I can see the ripple effect of everyone else's donations as well. I think your intentions are always good and that's what really counts with this.

The tea creme "leak" is kinda hilarious to me because I also do cosmetic mockups like this. Usually I create them for makeup brands tho', but I did a April Fool's edit for Holo Taco (Menchie Hair Polish). It's eerily similar but the person who edited it obviously knows Cristine's color preferences and possible has studied the Holo Taco color catalogue to determine the holes in color selection.

At 26 years old, just before the beginning of the pandemic I had started a new job, a temporary job. I fell in love with this temporary job. When the pandemic hit and the impending lockdown loomed over us I looked to your videos for comfort & distraction. I buy candy now because once you start getting closer to Halloween my local grocery stores actually start jacking up the prices. I pay full price for a bag or two of favorites plus one nut free bowl and stash them away from my family with a decoy bag. (They all know not to touch the peanut free one so I put those together to sell the ruse) Every Halloween I dramatically run to the store to get more candy when really I’m buying myself a little personal cake to eat before “saving the day” It’s a process, but I find it fun!

Interesting podcast! I am one who loves Scattered Holo Taco! I like the more subtleness of it. Regarding some of the ad sense stuff, as you've mentioned before, you weren't in it for the money and you had a day job and a lot of people lately go into it thinking they will make a lot of money and so might go for some of those recruitments. I also make lists every day and put easy things on just to cross them off!

I really look up to you in a weird we-are-the-same-age-but-you-are-better-at-it-then-me kind of way. I just wanted to say thank you for being such a realistic inspiration for data-driven introverts who prefer working to holidays, and also for Holo Taco. For the last 2 years, I have been working a full-time job (business intelligence), running my KZbin, my Etsy, and all the peripheral socials that go with it, and kind of forgetting to look after myself a bit. In a bid to encourage myself to do a little self-care, I purchased some Holo Taco. I had drooled over it for years, but could never quite justify getting myself something that felt so luxurious to me. Now every week I spend an hour just painting my nails, and then "lose" ~12 hours across the week just staring at how pretty they look (they sparkle, it's not my fault). I cannot put into words how much happiness something as simple as your nail polish has put into my life. Even the clinking sound of the tiny glass bottles makes me smile. This week I'm wearing the long-lasting base, Laven-duh, with gold flakies and a Matte Taco :)

I was never a fan of scattered holo taco, I picked it up on a whim to get free shipping to Canada with one of the recent launches as it was one of the only polishes I didn't own aside from the glitter polishes that I can't stand. And honestly, it surprised me how much I loved it. Flakie is still my favourite, but I love adding the subtle holo sparkle to polishes with other finishes like shimmers or multichrome for slight extra effect, and its perfect over/under nail art!

I love using Scattered Holo on the holo glitter polishes just for an extra sparkle and helps smooth the top coat (opposed to two plain clear coats for smoothness). Currently I have Scattered Holo on Plumb Luck

Lollll Scattered Holo Taco is my favorite Taco!! I love that it's blingy but still let's whatever shade underneath shine through :) But I love them all!
