I think it really comes down to personal preference and brand loyalty. spending +- $750 is big money for most of us. Having that mental assurance that you can trust the brand and after sales service is just as important as performance probably... so that extra couple of Mhz stock isn't a big deal. Asus, Gigabyte/Aorus, EVGA, MSI etc are BIG names all over the world. like Inno and others you'd probably have to ship internationally. Again... WHATEVER YOU DECIDE TO GET, It's your PC and nobody is funding you. Hahaha

Great review as always and awesome intro. It has been said a few times in the comments but you really want to review the Zotac Amp Extreme and Gigabyte Aorus Extreme Edition 1080 Ti's. The Asus Strix OC is a great overall card but both of them cards has it beat on performance from what I have seen.

They will fit no trouble although temperatures maybe high especially on the top card. My 1080s get hot with the glass panel off temps are fine.

Jebus I know the card was at idle and not under load but for the fans to be off is pretty damn cool (no pun intended). I'm also drooling SLI with this, and that kind of setup will just chew up VR titles without breaking a sweat.

I bought the ZOTAC AMP! Edition (not the Extreme) 1080 ti in my small form Silverstone RVZ01 case. Previously I had an 980 ti FE in it. The Zotac AMP! is a beast, too bad my case isn't well ventilated, which is designed more to accommodate the Founder Edition blower style cards, and as soon as I raise just a tad of power/watt , the temperature just skyrocket to above 90 degrees and halts all programs that I run. I plan to just make a big hole on my case to enhance airflow.

I just bought a used one for $450 with a warranty till 2021 it arrives tomorrow can't wait. I think this is the best of the 1080 ti's especially if you want quiet and low temps without water cooling.

I just had a well used 1080ti start giving up the ghost so now I'm kinda thinking about not getting a 20 or 3080 but just getting another 1080ti and keep it pushin but I'm not sure if it's holding anything else in my pc back somehow... its not a speed demon or anything but most if not all the rest of the build parts are a bit newer than the 1080ti.... ive not noticed any sort of bottleneck or anything but then again I probably wouldn't know what to look at anyway lol I'm running a amd 5600x and a rog strix b550 motherboard what would you all do? Again I'm pretty happy with the performance of my pc and I just play a few games on it I'm not a super serious gamer but I do like a good looking game too.... but it's not like I have 4k monitors or anything either lol

at 03:43 you show the cards o/c results at a maximum boost of 2075mhz, but what was the average boost ? What was the experience like setting up your system fans linked directly to the GPU? my non OC version of the strix card is due wednesday. I have the Gigabyte 1080 Ti Gaming OC but it's a piece of crap - no backplate, loud fans and basic windforce cooler - it's going back as it also has coil whine.

It tends to change from game to game but it's always over 2000 mhz if that helps. That's a shame about your card thought coil whine wasn't an issue anymore.

Thanks for the reply fella. Fan connect 2 info ? =] like does it spin your fans to a % of max GPU fan speed. my case fans max is 1200 RPM (Silent series) bu the GPU fans are like 2800 @ 100% so whats the deal there?

Great question! You can change the RPM using ASUS GPU Tweak II. Setting the connected fans to hit 100% when the GPU hit's 80C would put your case fans at 1200 RPM.

zKingExtremePT x99 is more for people that do a shit tons of stuffs on their computers, You can buy a x99 board if you want to but it cost more and you need to buy a more expensive CPU. Z270 is perfect for people that just want to play games, stream and etc. When it comes to graphics card they are nearly identical when it come to performance (if we ignore the founders edition) between the brands. :)
