Great review PC Centric. I normally doesn't write comments on KZbin, mainly because my English isn't very good, but I had to write a comment here. I have followed your KZbin channel for quite some time and have always been able to make informed buying decisions based on your great reviews. Hope to see lots more reviews an interesting KZbin videos from you in the future, PC Centric :-)

Fine video, good editing. Only thing that I think you can improve is the benchmark graphs. It's a bit clunky with all the min-max-avg fps in different tabs.

EVGA emailed me a notification about the FTW3. Just as I'm in the process of pre-ordering I stopped myself and decided to wait for the Vega. I'm becoming increasingly impatient with them being so tight lipped about release details. I know "its right around the corner" but I'm clueless as to why their marketing team or whomever thought it would be a good idea to not let release info out considering the competition. Anyone with a better understanding care to give some insight or share their opinion of how these companies operate?

I'm currently running a 1080 Strix in SLI setup with the Asus PG348Q monitor. Since Gsync doesn't work right with SLI atm, I'm thinking of switching out both the cards for a single 1080Ti. How much of an upgrade/downgrade would that be? Will I be able to run games like The Witcher 3 at max setting with a steady 91+ fps?

Two questions: 1.) Is there a big difference between the OC/non OC versions? (I'm an idiot and i had multiple tabs open on NewEgg while comparing and ordered the non OC version when the OC was only like $30 more and I ordered the wrong one XD) 2.) Do I need an Aura enabled MB to use the lighting on the card itself? (Have an older z97-A board and plan on upgrading the board when i get either a 7700k or an 8700k chip)

BIG PC But if you're buying 1080Ti's and HTC Vive's then why are you still on 1080p? the 1080Ti can easily handle pretty much every game maxed out at 1440p and can handle a shit ton of games maxed out at 4K (not all though but who really cares about fully maxing out games?), get yourself a 4K monitor or a 1440p 144HZ monitor instead 1080p, i can't even imagine seriously playing a game at 1080p anymore.

Really? My old 770 ran fine at high settings for some games. I did have to turn some settings down but it ran at about 50-60 FPS on a 1080p monitor. Well, if you are sticking with a 1080p monitor, then I would go with an RX 480, GTX 1070, and maybe a 1080 if you can find one for a really good price. Even I would consider the 1070 a little overkill.

What is more GPU demanding, 1440p @144hz or 4K @60hz? And is the 1080Ti overkill for 1440p @144hz?
@patthonsirilim5739
@patthonsirilim5739 7 жыл бұрын
1440p at 144hz is more demanding if you want to hold that kind of number 4k 60hz is comparable to 1440p 120hz in pixel being push per second in theroy but some really demanding games will start pushing even the most hardcore cpu to its limits after you go more then 100hz that why you sometime dont see to much improvement from this monster cards at 1080p

You Don't Have a Nvidia 1080ti FE for comparison sake. That is fairly important if you are doing KZbin reviews. I would also try or recommending reviewing the GPU also with GPU benchmark utilities, and if you could do game's like, Deus Ex Mankind Divided, The Division, GTA 5, Battlefield 1, Ghost Recon, to name a few. Ya I am being critical but, IMO these are Important to me when I make a GPU purchasing decesion.

As a computer science student i'm generally at least quite decently informed about computer hardware. Since it's time for a pc upgrade and i have the money to do so, i'm getting this card. However, concerning monitors i seem to have been living under a rock over the past years. I still use a rather "old" 1080p monitor that was new when 50000:1 contrast was *the shit*. Now i seemingly have to decide whether i want to go for a higher refresh rate or 4k. I'd really like to test 4k, but even with this monster of a graphics card i'm quite concerned about the FPS. Most benchmarks are barely over the 60 FPS on ultra settings, and i dont plan on upgrading again for the next 5 or so years. Then again.. most of those benchmarks have anti aliasing enabled which might or might not be necessary on 4k. On the other hand.. is it worth it? Opinions seem to really differ a lot regarding 4k gaming. And what about 144hz? This is probably more important in competitive gaming tho. Can anybody give me some advices on good monitors to look into? Preferably nothing too expensive, even tho i'm aware that decent monitors will probably cost 200-300€ or even more. Just dont give me some crazy 1000€ monitors or something lol. The rest of my setup will already be quite expensive and i cant shit money xD

Well, that's probably a sideeffect of studying a formal topic. You start to think a bit differently. Even tho, what's wrong with writing a half decent comment for youtube? :) And my english is far from perfect too i believe.

Yamyatos Dell S2417DG is a Extremly good monitor for its price. it costs about 500 bucks but it is 1440p, 165hz, G-sync, 24" and it is flicker free so it gets more comfy for your eyes.

i think the gtx 1080ti is the perfect card atm for 1440p with high refresh rate for now and future. cause future games will be heavier. 40-60 hz 4k is not really pleasureble to play games.. you will get like maybe 30-50 fps future games..

Nah man.. 4k has been defeated? You didn't even benchmark 4k... pfft. I can't speak for everyone, but when I see benchmarks; I want exact numbers.. take a little off here, add a little there doesn't cut it for me

the screen he is using is the cinemascope standard of 4k 21:9 which is 3840x1600 UHD standard. cinema 4k is 4096x1720 at 21:9 aspect ratio. 16:9 4k is 3840x2160. so he is using the 4K version of 21:9 which is utrawide
