Same! I love it! There’s not a whole lot of guides on this first one, that aren’t in Japanese anyway. This guy and Backlog Battle have some really great guides. I found out about and then started this series when Ryza 3 came out recently and I really wanted to play the whole series so I could fully enjoy the 3rd one.

Same, thx to this series I know how to prepare to make the ultimate weapons once I feel ready to try and make them. This has been very useful as I was having trouble early game as in my mind all jrpgs are easy early game so don't bother with upgrading gear unless you find it. That logic made the first and second boss fights hard especially as I didn't know how extra actions worked.

I just crafted a 999 perfect quality and effect mystic seed through making a regular plant seed and in the process I learned how to make water and plant seeds it's really nifty doing quality looping thanks sooop much for showing me this you now have a new subscriber 💕💕💕💕💕💋

Thanks And also my stats are now above +1800 in everything! i can beat almost every extra boss on legendary with no problem! the only ones that kinda fight back are dark element and queen of shadows.

Well my first item was 999 Natural Cloth and I used only Alchemy Fibers/Natural cloths, put them into each other with quality and quality+, not sure why the faq I used mentioned zettel (I guess to spread the quality?). Though I hadn't used it yet, don't need it until later, but I'm still just playing through the main part until I get the multicauldron (whatever it is called..). EDIT: NVM I read it again and all those extra steps were for making more Natural Cloths without duplication. Also yeah this also is a category thing so quality/duplication isn't everything, you need 999 seeds also (green supplement+honey), sure helps just to get 999 1st though and not use it prematurely.

After beating the game on normal, I decided to start a fresh new run on charismatic difficulty. Mobs in starting areas are pretty tough, but beatable with upgraded first-tier gear. However this rock puppet mini-boss (first kobernite ore source) appears to be one-shotting my whole party in just few turns despite fairly decent stats (lvl 12, ~100 atk/def/hp, ~40 spd). Any tips for that mini-boss? Or should I just give up and downgrade the difficulty? :)

charismatic wasnt really balanced around doing a "fresh" new game, it was more intended for NG+, my only suggestion would be brute force your alchemy level to craft higher tier/quality gear by using quality loops and things like that. otherwise just grind your level out.

Make zettel. Use it in water orb. Use water orb to make more zettel. Repeat. Okay, but how does this apply to seeds? Are there any recipes that use seeds?

Philosopher's stone op lol. A few other items with 2 spread is dope as well (the 4 lief clover looking thing). Items that I couldn't drop in any of these 2 items, I just added in 700+ quality with best quality and quality+30 (I still haven't seen quality++) just enough to craft the item, and have the quality go to 999. Then i'd re-synth and then max the bonuses. Easy! Oh wow. I could sort by traits? Damn I did it the manual harder way xD. But you were doing like so many extra steps. Since you had quality++ quality+ and best quality you could have done 3 travelers orbs, then added other items in and max out the item before even ever touching re-synth.

Well, you didn't explain how you do this when you have no item with quality +, quality ++ or best quality to put in zettels or blue orbs thing. I litteraly cannot begin the entire process :/

you literally get them from just gathering normally in the game. do you want everything spoonfed to you?

@@hns_ss At the time I was writing I was at the endgame boss in hard difficulty so yeah... your comment is irrelevant. For those who got the same problem as me, I tried with other recipes that had quality or quality+ skills (no quality ++) and I managed to do get those lvl 999 items. You'll have quality and quality+ on almost all your items at first but you'll have to do the whole process again this time by using your just acquired lvl 999 items and keep only the skills you want (and not quality, quality+...). So you've got lvl 999 item A for example with quality, quality+, best quality and your newly crafted item A lvl 999 with supersonic, def+, skill damage+ or whatever combination you want that does not have quality in it. It's a bit of a chore but it worked for me. Hope it helped someone out there.

@Xerain House that's not it at all, this game and alchemy is terribly put together and confusing at every step for anyone new to the series. There are multiple ways of doing these things to get high quality items but people CONSTANTLY forget little steps here and there because they have played this game before. I've scowered the internet and it is all over the place and hard to follow. Not to mention, either the person already has high quality items to synth to make it look easy or someone just does it on the screen without explaining what they are doing. The guides are useless as well in game. Even atelier ryza 2 reworked alchemy because it was stupid to follow

Do we really have to max out the quality to 999 before Synthesizing it? Then what about the Quality traits? The traits would also enhance the Quality.

they would indeed enhance the quality but what if you need different traits for your weapons, armour, accessory or items? then you wouldnt have max quality items. its not like its hard to do that 1 step extra and it saves effort and hassle in the future

So, there are no quality nodes on Traveler's Water Orbs, so how do I get them to 999 base quality? I got my Zettels to 999 base, but they aren't enough to raise the base quality of the orbs to 999. Do I need 99 alchemy to get the 1-2 extra added items (am at 81 atm)? EDIT: Figured it out. I had to not unlock the Seafood Trait node on my final synth and just unlock it during rebuilding.

When I'm rebuilding the items the quality drops from 999... not sure what I'm doing wrong. EDIT: nvm, I'm stilly. I realized I have to achieve quality of 999 WITHOUT quality boosting traits.

Thanks Primal I'm able to better understand the alchemy system thanks to you. But I still have something that I can't figure out. I understood about the q999 for things that I craft (for exemple I was able after seeing your video to craft maxed out Alchemy Powder) cause I used things that I've crafted and were already at q999 ! But here's my problem, with seeds how can you get q999 with only materials that you can gather (uni, sapling, spice categories in that case) if you do not have the seeds to make them grow. Do you just have to be lucky and gather high materials ? Or is it gonna skyrocket with Quality++ and Quality+ ? I don't really understand that part... Hope you'll understand what I'm trying to say as English isn't my native language ^^

water orb simply hadnt been maxed by the time of making this video. The idea behind max quality items with no traits is that you can then use them in loops, put whatever trait you want on them and still maintain 999 quality, this way you can get 999 quality equipment and items with any traits you want as quality influences stats and item damage/effect

I made my boots with subpar materials and didnt pay much attention to the quality of them anyway since i was already going to hit the maximum stat boost from quality.

atm, none. My gear means nothing does more than 1 damage to me on the highest difficulty (even the optional boss) i out damage all items in terms of DPS without annoying set ups and i self heal like 7x my max hp with each attack.

So like, this is cool and all but out of curiosity is there any point in making 999 quality things, by this point you're done with the game. I'm just not sure what it's for (i haven't finished the game yet :D)

you can make 999 quality VERY early on in the game, and yes you want 999 quality for all your gear/items so you can play on the hardest difficulty/do the DLC bosses. if you dont care about that and just play on normal then no theres no point, but gear quality plays a large part in your characters stats (not reflected on the gear itself but is reflected on your characters stats page) and items do more damage/heal more with higher quality.

Huh. I just went to the DLC Bonus Dungeon, ran past everything, opened the chests, got the four Quality 999 Supplements, duplicated them (Really low cost for those), and used them to bump up the quality of a lot of my stuff. From there, I build off of the synthesis items to create a quality loop until everything that possibly can be built with 999 quality is, and then dupe that stuff. I guess it's similar to what you did, but skipping several steps.

No idea when, i got the game last week and finished it today, wanted to try make the 999 quality items, but only the first added trait is counted for the quality bonus. So in the end it took me a bit longer to get it to max quality😅
