Thanks, Alex! I've commented on another video of yours as well: your videos on the Mini and Mini Pro have been very helpful to me. It's great to hear that BM has added audio delay...it's not a feature I need personally (I've got an external audio device that can do the delay) but it's encouraging to see that BM is showing that they really listen to their customers and increase the value of their products with firmware updates. Keep up the great videos!

Man, I couldn't have missed this news in million years, both you, Aaron Parecki and AJtheCEO pumped it almost immediately :-) Awesome news and well done video. Now, the re-routing one of the audio inputs into - a headphone jack. If it's enough with one microphone in some situations (I can connect the other one into the camera directly..) then they could give us this option in the next great update. But it's nice that they listen and care for their users. Btw, prior to this update I've used an audio mixer that sent a nice out to my Sony A7III's audio input jack, I've sent that signal to the Atem, but there was a 3-4 frame delay anyway...

Just tried this and with the setting of the value"6" on the delay function it gave perfect results. What a relief. If anyone's interested my chain was: Aston Origin studio microphone into a Tascam DR-70D 4 channel mixer, input level 12 o'clock, phantom power needed. Line Out from the Tascam into Mic 1 on the Atem Mini Pro Input on the Atem audio channel until the meters went into yellows, then a notch more (I had the mic some 20 cm away recording guitar playing) Audio delay setting 6

I have the same question. Reading through to see if it's answered. I want the answer to be that we simply repeat the same delay adjustment if we're repeating the same camera and audio setup. I've been running audio through my cameras to avoid this (and have not gotten consistent audio).

Just did this for my Atem Mini Extreme ISO... worked perfectly! Only one issue... now that I have a 4 frame delay in my audio, I can't monitor my Atem live (using the headphone jack) without hearing the annoying echo in the headphones. I guess I just have to set my levels before recording and then hope they don't vary much during my recording / streaming.

Hi Alex. Thanks for your videos. What advice do you have for those who make live festival videos? There are many cameras at different distances from the ATEM mini board (5, 20, 30 or even 50 meters of HDMI or SDI cables with converter), others with wireless transmitter. So I believe that each of them will have a different delay from the main audio. Is there any native functionality in ATEM mini or 3rd party software/hardware that allows you to adjust individual delays in input signals from cameras and microphones?

Hi Alex! We have an ATEM Mini Pro that we use for live editing whilst recording podcast episodes - we only use the ATEM for the video component as we have our mics connected separately to a Zoom H6 Handy Recorder. When importing and editing, we simply match the audio files to the single ATEM edit. It'll match up perfectly in the beginning, but at some point there seems to be an audio drift. Any advice on how to fix this? Many thanks in advance!

@tl.multimedia2 жыл бұрын
We do podcasts this way but with an F8 recorder. What we do as a matter of course is bounce the audio out on XLR (which the F4/8 series has) into an XLR input on the primary camera - either a BMPCC4K or whatever. Then the audio from that is transmitted in sync over the HDMI into that track. This saves syncing up the tracks thereafter. We still record individual tracks which we then can sync on Resolve. I'm not aware we have experienced any drift, but then the F8 has a better internal clock (as well as better pre-amps so less hiss etc). H recorders are not as useful unfortunately, and we found spending the extra was worth it to save hassle in post.

Mini Jacks are probably your best option, or you would have to take the audio from your desk into one of your cameras and then have it embedded down the cameras HDMI. Feel like it!s just easier to come out of your Midas from XLR or JACK to Mini Jack

Is there a way to add video delay to one channel? (One camera has a delay of about 80ms due to a wireless transmitter)
@lit20214 жыл бұрын
Awesome! :D Now I don't have to buy the special audio delay device :D Also, the sound travels around 1 ft/ms, and 1 frame (in 50p) is 20ms.. So delaying one frame is like moving the microphone away from the source approximately 20ft (~6 meters).

An external USB audio interface wouldn't go into the ATEM Mini Pro, only your computer...so you are always going to need to compensate for the signal difference...whether you use an ATEM, Capture Card, or even a webcam :)

Alex Pettitt correct. I have a zoom H6 so when I record, it’s never in synch. Probably also in zoom calls but I don’t notice because it’s chalked up to bandwidth or something.
