Low budget isn't bad, it's the clear low effort that keeps me away. This movie feels like some executive reached into a bag of buzzwords and pulled out JLo, AI, and Mecha and told someone to make a movie about it.
@CloroxBleach-qy7vy8 ай бұрын
They dont take 1-3 years to put effort into a movie anymore, nowadays they either just work on the script for barely a year, and finish production and filming in just under a couple of months. They aren’t trying anymore, just trying to rack in as much cash from the box office that they can and hope they break even.

The major glaring issue I had with this movie was DISTANCE. Leaving not just our solar system, but our galaxy to chase an aberrant android: 2½ MILLION light-years away with millions of stars & planets to peruse in just Andromeda's nearest quadrant. Logistically leaving our system for the nearest star (Proxima), here in our Milky Way, is slightly less outlandish at 4 light-years distance. However the Jovian moons would hold an actual proximate potential threat. Leaving the system says "I'm done; doing me now, leave me be 'cause coming back at you ain't worth my time.
@Juandraym18 ай бұрын
Budget & script would have better served a live "Exo-Squad" movie. The exo-frame's Ai's sudden self-awareness & forcefully ejecting the pilot in self sacrifice was awesome. "Farewell operator JT Marsh." (Of course I hoped it uploaded its core memory B4 destruction).

Yes, that was the problem. How did she call for help and got rescued in under 22h? How on GR-39, was 22h oxygen reserve enough to walk and fight and get injured, and then walk and fight again without any problem? Edit: What was that Smith made of? Adamantium or a plot armor?

One important thing people are missing out from this movie is that the plot completely falls apart when you find out it was Atlas fault harlan went rouge in the first place and She knew that information and still goes on a mission to capture Him so the army can find out the answer to a question she already knows🤷🏽♂️. That’s what the whole movie is about. She had each and every one of those Mech marines aboard that ship DOA. Whatever picture they tried to paint her character as she definitely wasn’t a victim, as a child she was, but as an adult data analyst for the space military you’d think sharing important information would be a key element of her job especially when it’s crucial information on a mission she’s actually on. The character was more than reckless in this movie and instead of receiving a happy ending and mech suit she should have been arrested at the end.

I mean, it's not a ground breaking movie but I think it's alright for the average viewer. And I never realised JLO's incredible cheekbones until this movie.

I just finished watching it and actually liked it. Its not the strongest with some of its writing as it seems to really be focused on Atlas and smith with Atlas overcoming her trauma. But I actually really liked that part. I like how they eventually reveal all that guilt she has and the reason behind her trauma. I think that was really well done and the actress' performance was great as well. Evil AI bro lacked for sure/all the villians but I mostly focused on her inner struggles rather than it being the hero arc stuff.

I came here to see how the movie ended because I got bored half way through. The terminator poses and the constant swearing for effect and the wooden characters around the strong woman trope, with a bit or iron man CGI sewn in. A lot of info dumping, which is what Hollywood scripts seem to be doing these days. I'm surprised we didn't get the classic 'Save The Cat' moment. Where are the great directors like Alfred Hitchcock who would kill the star in the first scene and you never knew what was coming next? Come on Netflix, show us something original! I would love to see what you thought of Jeanne Du Barry as I felt that the script was sadly lacking. Your review was excellent!

Too bad you didn't mention how in Mass Effect, Commander SHEPARD can choose to get inside any unpiloted ATLAS mechs. Also Lana Parilla killed it as the mom, so I wanted her consciousness to be inside Simu Liu -- for a 2 hour movie it was way too cookie cutter and not enough Lana. PS your puns are awesome!
