Thanks, appreciate your time and effort. Just got mine yesterday. Axe fx 2 here in a few weeks! Just got a new PRS w/EMG 81 85 and did the 18 volt mod. The headroom and hi-fidelity is scary awesome w/CLR's! Feels like Xmas x10!

Is this still a good FRFR with latest amp modeling tech in 2020? How compare to Headrush FRFR 8/12 speakers?

That is a great demo and the clearest recording in all the CLR reviews. Loads of warmth and power. Really useful and many thanks Pete. I know its a bit of a tangent but which Wah pedal are you using. It sounds superb!!

Great review Pete! I couldn't agree with Pete more, you have to get in the room with these speakers and hear for yourself!

Best sounding powered FRFR cabs and nice picking too! Thanks Pete. If he hasn't already, Tom needs to cut you a deal on these for the most excellent plug ; )

Thanks for great reviews Peter. Love your playing too. I was looking at Atomic website because I liked the previous Reactor line of products. I have just little cheap Digitech RP but which is better for nice warm sound? CLR FRFR or Reactor?

Pete, thanks for the thorough review of this cabinet, sounds amazing! Regarding Axe FX II paired with Matrix Power Amp or Rocktron Velocity 300, can you give me an idea on how it will sound if I run it through a Marshall 4x12 Vintage 30's cabinet as compared to running through an Atomic CLR cabinet? Thanks so much!

Pete, question for you about this monitor.. Here's a scenario that I would use often: assuming my modeler is in input 1, could I use an adapter (1/8 to 1/4) to send a backing track off my phone through input 2, balance it using the two volume controls, use the Link output (set to blended) to my interface and into the DAW?

pete, please make a Kemper Profiling Amp Review with this speakers, I looking to buy a FRFR Speakers but there are many and still undecided which one or if you hear other that you can recommend me.
@dcaudio17 жыл бұрын
Hey Pete what do you honestly think about these frfr powered units compared to a normal cab. I feel cabs make up about 40% of the sound. I just ordered a kemper and now I’m looking at these powered speakers. My experience has shown me the 4x12 1960A cab sounds the best of all the normal cabs i have used...and i have used a lot of them. These days I’m looking for a great sounding practice cab. Have you tried the friedman cab?

I think I found the cabinet solution to my dream amp - the KPA. Thx.

Hey Pete first thing your playing is off the chart ? 2 have you tried them with ax fx

These really are the future of guitar cabs IMHO. Marshal and Laney won't be far behind :)

The idea of sending the PA torpedo live (or similar) modelled sound, and using a high quality wedge for your monitor is great actually...What I do is in ear monitor + torpedo to PA though..

I have an axe fx 2, and want to know if you can just plug it directly into the atomic clr - for practice with drummer? do you need to mic it up?

Is the CLR cabinet self powering? Could I run my effects pedal straight to it and it can work without a power amp?
@theaustralianhulk7 жыл бұрын
is there any white noise/hiss with these? for say using it in a small bedroom? I have the Freidman ASM 12 and it does.

Love your videos Pete. They are amazing. What am I missing here though. If you re gonna take one of these around you may as well revert back to taking your guitar amp like in the old days? How do they differ from an active PA speaker like A yamaha DSR for instance?
@PeteThorn6 жыл бұрын
It is an active pa speaker essentially, just a really good sounding option for one. With a couple unique features for patching audio. It’s quite light and ace to reproduce sound flat, without color, wether on the floor like a wedge, or on it’s side more like a guitar amp, or on a stand (you recalibrate it with a switch). So the tones you dial in on headphones or good studio monitors should translate very well. But yes/ it’s a frfr speaker system- an active PA essentially

Can you please do a demo of you AXE FX II with this cab. Thanks
@bigleemac11 жыл бұрын
Hmm...could you run a vocal mic straight into this plus a mic from a guitar cab? then take a feed into a desk? I sing and play lead in our band and having independent control of my vocal/guitar mix would be great.

I wonder after all these years if these amps still hold up to the newer ones today.
@artgillespie1627 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right. It is hard to demo these properly with one of these videos. A person needs to be in the same room with the gear. I have a CLR and think it is fantastic. This video doesn't do it any justice. It is just like any guitar, pedal or amp. You should be in the same room with it to demo properly. These youtube video demos are good to help point a person in the right direction but never buy just based upon the video. Demo it yourself because your playing will be different than the artist demoing these videos. This was a great video. But the unit in person is even better.

Hey Pete, Do you think it would work well with a good audio interface, active DI into guitar rig? I'm thinking about radial j48 pro -> rme babyface ->guitar rig -> atomic CLR.

I would think so, ya!

Im all about bringing a smaller rig to gigs, I used to carry full stacks, now I carry my kemper and a 2x12, but I would love to try this thing out, with say an ax8 or something. less is more now.
@artgillespie1627 жыл бұрын
I had the same problem. Got tired of dragging so much equipment to gigs. Now I have the CLR and an atomic processor. And that is all I use. I programmed the processor to do all the tones and effects for my songs. Simple is better

is the 500 watt model loud enough to do a small club gig on its own?
@TomKing-nz3qo10 ай бұрын
Absolutely! CLRs are being used on large stages by both hobbyists on pros. The conservatively rated 500w amp is more powerful then many systems rating their amps at 2000w.
@pulseofnature48798 жыл бұрын
Hello Pete, Thank you for this video really nice. I really try to get a pair of these CLRS, but was literally impossible. Atomic amps has a longer than life waiting list and also a horrible customers service! i don't know if people really wants to give his money to a company that doesn't seems to have any interest in selling their products and also doesn't takes time to provide serious information about how long will take to purchase the cabs. I decided to go for a more professional company with a solid customer service and i purchase the FBT STAGEMAXX 12MA
These things are way overpriced and sound like fuzzy shit. That is why they only demo them with tons of effects. You can buy a good used Marshall and some effects for what one of these overhyped turds cost!
