Shark tank negotiations are so dumb sometimes. Why would you a business partner that gives you ultimatums? "Say yes now or I'm out." You'll never know when the next time is that they'll try to strong arm you or pressure you into doing what they want. How is that starting off on the right foot with each other as business partners? Honestly the whole concept is a bit dumb, unless you're desperate it seems foolish to accept a Sharks offer most of the time. The literal title of the show paints them as investors who exploit other people for their own profit. That's how they're a good shark. Sometimes they'll do some stuff that's more charitable and I don't really count those ones... but like... a lot of these companies could get more money elsewhere. They may not get the "guidance" but you can hire people more qualified than the sharks to help run the business.

The international/wealthy immigrant student thing is completely true. I live in am apartment complex that is close to a college campus and 2 of my 3 neighbors are international and they are never at their apartment. On some weekends they will stay in them because they are walking distance from the bars. I might see or hear them twice a month. Their parents rent them apartments while they live at home most of the time. It is kind of crazy. My parents started charging me rent at 16 when I got my first job. It was $50 but thats besides the point.
