My challenge to you. Will stock red cable of Rode Wireless Go II support Stereo/Split recording feature of RODE 2 with Insta360 camera? will the audio have two separate channels in the footage recording? And Insta360 Studio does not have the feature to mute the right or the left channel. When I did test this, all I got was single identical sound recording on both channels in the the footage that Insta360 Studio rendered for me.

Good question. I don't think there is a difference. Merged audio seems to also mean mono or single track audio.

Very nice video! So many valuable information. Thank you! Unfortunately I'm experiencing a particular issue that I can't fix. Maybe you have a clue...: If I select split mode both mics seem to work fine (at least what the meter says on the RX). When I connect it to the PC over USB-C and record the audio through e.g. Adobe Audition (Wireless Go II set as input) only one mic is being recorded, in left and right channel. Any clue? In addition to that, my Lavalier Go sounds quite dull. I believe, not that good as yours. Haha, frustrating...

If you shot in stereo sound, yes you can manipulate each track. It's hard to explain in words, but you would display the audio tracks below the video and change them that way.

another way is, in PP, right click on timeline and select edit with adobe audition, once open, select all the audio file, favourites - then make mono, apply, then favourites and convert to stereo... aaaaaaaaand walaaaaaaaa

I don't see a drop in quality when merging audio in post. But the main reason to shoot stereo is to be able to manipulate each track on its own. If you don't need that, save time in post and shoot merged/mono.

Suzi, is there ever a situation where Dialog 1 is a single person and the other mic carries the other person? Or would that only be likely to occur when the two peeps were separated by enough distance that they wouldn’t pick up the other person? That is a great question. If I'm understanding it correctly, yes, a single mic could pick up 2 people if they are in close proximity to each other. Depends on where your microphone transmitters are being placed, but split audio will give you more editing flexibility in post production. Maybe experiment with some clips first and make sure you can edit them properly in iMovie.

Hey, I record 2 person interviews with both transmitters and in medge mode, but the recording only comes out of the left ear and I have to edit to get sound in both right and left ears. Am I doing it wrong or could there be a problem with the devices.

It's not a camera setting, it's a mic setting. Make sure it is recording as Mono audio instead of Stereo.

The receiver has an LCD display that shows you mic levels. If your camera has a headphone jack, you can use that to monitor audio in real time. There is also a physical dB button on the receiver that lets you bump the decibel levels up or down.
