Audiotechnica AD700x vs AD1000x

I started my journey with the AD700's back when they were like....purple....fell in love with this hobby right then and there! Still haven't tried the R70x though but they've always interested me as I miss AT in my collection!

The old trick from back when the ad700 was purple was to put a rubber band from one side of the top of head pad to the other. That pulls them together if you need them tighter.

I love my ad900x,used it since 2015. A really good headphone for gaming.

Hey, I recognize those! Wow, the price on those really went up. You used to be able to find the ad1000x for $250-$300 new on amazon. I wonder if they discontinued producing them, driving the cost up.

If you wanna get into AT and want an exciting sound signature I'd recommend the AD2000. I have one and I'll def. keep it, not just because they're hard to find. The R70X is geared towards studio use imo.

I own both. The 700 are grainy tinny monsters but probably the best budget FPS. The 1000 is good too. On the $250 used market the SRH1840 is a fun headphone for gaming.

Hi great review, quick off topic ifi may, just looking at a compare of the Jot 2 and lyre 3 and the reviewer said they were only just able to drive the he6sev2, I know you use the Singxer sa-1 which is around the same power, I know you have no problem and love the synergy don’t you?

I didn’t really like the pairing with the Jot 2, but it drove them okay. I thought it came off a bit sharp and not as natural and nuanced as the Singxer. On the Singxer I run at probably 3:00 to 4:00, so not a lot of headroom there, but it sounds good. Sounds better out out of the Singxer than the speaker taps of the Burson Funk. I’ve got a Soloist coming soon, so I can update once I have that.
