After a judge declared a mistrial in Austin Ford’s second trial for the murder of his best friend, Tori Lang, the state of Georgia announced it will not proceed with a third trial. “With a heavy heart, the state is announcing it is not going to proceed with a third trial on counts one through five,” district attorney Norris Lewis said in court Wednesday. Ford will instead be sentenced for charges a jury found him guilty of in his first trial, including theft and concealing the death of another.

I didn’t watch this trial, but it seems like the prosecution is trying to get him 30yrs since they were unable to get the murder conviction.

They are and to me that isn't right. And that's not me saying he was guilty or innocent. But the Prosecution could not prove their case, and now they want to punish him for their F UPS in not being able to do their job. Smh, please it's wrong and I'm glad the Judge is a fair and honest person to call them out on it.

do prosecutors mostly ask for the maximum sentence possible? even the judge seems surprised by his audacity to ask for 30 years.

They do when the person gets off on the murder charge. Ask OJs prosecutors in his robbery case. Dude got a murder sentence for stealing his own memorabilia back. 😂

@LostHope84 Well, I believe OJ should have been in prison for life. He did kill his xwife. Just got away because of his money and every one knew him. Seems like famous people gets away with everything.

Exactly, because they could not do their job in proving this case. 30 years is ridiculous for this particular crime with a person with no criminal record. They mad because they messed up the case, and it's sad because this definitely happens alot because most Judges will do it.

he got caught up in Tori's whims, wants and her wanting to look perfect. She tried it once to unalive herself and then to get someone else caught up in her insecurities. At least he do not have a murder charge over him. So they wanted him to pay somehow for what she did to herself.

While on jury duty for two weeks I had falling asleep a couple times throughout the trial. To hide from the audience, lawyers, defendant, etc I would turn my head and put a few fingers on my face (like i was thinking) and rest for a minute. Some parts of the trial were excruciating. I was listening, and it was a very interesting case but... it's a lonnnnng day. The other jury's totally got it too 😂😂😂😂lol

Not funny at all. You were to give the accused the same thoughtful attention you would want for yourself. Stand if you are getting tired. And act like a grown adult.

@pozzee2809 Myself and the rest of my comrades knew exactly what was going on. Since having served before, I unfortunately was voted to be the foreman. There were many long, boring, tedious moments in court that even the judge was nice and awesome enough to apologize for. Lengthy side bars and many problems with each party that had us waiting. If you've never served, worked directly after, or know my case, I would suggest you get off your high horse and get a life. You gotta laugh at life. I'll add the lol and emojis just for you 😉 😘🤣🤣🤣🤣loll

she tried herself once before because of her insecurities. She drugged him into this. She could not do it herself the first time and had him to try and off her. I would say to folks, leave those folks alone and let them do what they want to do.

He will be doing time for something that the victim drug him into. He did not have a record prior to this. He was a friend trying to help a friend but he got caught up. He did not turn his back on her, she turned her back on him, because he was left to defend his honor, now look at him. I hope he learned from this.
