While a 14-foot hammerhead shark is large, those guys are the least likely (or at least one of the least likely) sharks to attack any humans. People swim with them all the time without incident. Bull and tiger sharks tend to not be so nice to us, though.

@@CSPlayer129, he's telling the truth. Hammerheads have been known to bite mostly feet because they're mostly bottom feeders in shallow waters. ...and more often than not, it's in murky water. They do not have a penchant for biting humans.

Bull sharks are the worst. Those smaller white tips are nasty too. As small as they are, they will rip you up.

Hammerhead sharks don't attack people like that. I guarantee you, an attack in shallow water is a bull shark. They are aggressive AF.

Well yes there’s sharks in the ocean duh but we’re not use to them coming so close to shore. Normally they don’t. The reason they are is because these sharks are hunting a certain fish that are moving closer to shore because of climate change.

I snorkel a lot in Destin I can tell you the Hammer heads are NOT attacking people those sharks least likely attack anyone. 1000% it’s prob a Bull Shark. btw stop swimming past the Damn sandbar…… it’s their ocean. Keep diver knife on your ankle.

Most sharks try to avoid humans, can't say I blame them ,I'm the same way. I believe it's mostly curiosity that we get bit but there's a few that have learned that humans are easy prey.

Fourteen feet !? That's a pretty good size for a Hammer Head Shark. They don't usually bother people. It might have made a mistake if it was close to shore thinking that whatever it bit would be a good snack. They usually go after Rays , small fish and other small sharks. I know we have a lot of Bull sharks, Whites and a few Tigers from time to time.

Re shark attacks: Can air and sea drones help secure beaches near designated booths attended by life-guards (for viewing drone- cameras on multiple live- stream screens & to operate in-booth drone controls)? ~~~~~ ALSO >> Monitoring dredging, to insure that increased shark access isn't accidentally created, is also very important!!!

Maybe, they shouldn’t allow people to swim in areas where there are sharks. They could use the fish netting like they do in Australia. I would be fine with that since I don’t swim out far but other people like to swim all the way out where the sharks are. So let them be the food and the rest of us can stay by the shoreline. Jumping off boats out there is crazy too.
