Have to unlock the roof on the SSR with a key before you can drop the top. If it's locked and you press the roof button it times out. That thing looks and sounds mean!

I own an SSR, it is defiantly a head turner. The 2003 - 2004 years had the 5.3, and 2005 - 2006 had the 6.0, some models had the optional 6speed stick shift. I really like those aftermarket wheels, they are close to 3k for the tires and wheels alone. You are correct with the top folding in behind the seats, the top error is fairly common and easy fix. Do not lift the hood by the chrome bar, they tend to break, I'm surprised that it is still on the hood after the wreck. Very few new body panels are available, most body repairs are with used parts. The trunk button is on the key fob, and also in the glove box (on the dash part in the upper left corner). To close up the back, open the tailgate, close the tonneau cover, then close the tailgate. The tool in the glove box is to manually raise or lower the top (I need that part). I got mine 5 years ago with 13k miles for about $23K. Some of them can be had for as low as $10k with close to 200k miles. Most cars are in the $20k - $25k range for a clean title car with under 50k miles. One with less than 1,500 miles recently sold for over $50,000. Go for it!

@@mexicanspec Exactly. One of my Copart rebuilds was a 2008 Saab 9-3 that sat at Copart for almost 10 months. I really wanted a Saab, so I was watching Copart really closely for one. Mine was sold "Pure Sale" on it's first try. Likely title problems kept it there for so long. Didn't really hurt it- I charged the battery, put a headlight on it, and was driving it the day I got it home

I had a black 2004 SSR. Traded it in for a 2010 Bumble Bee Camaro. To drop the top you have to keep your foot on the brake. To close the tailgate the cover goes down 1st and you have to slam the tailgate closed. The SSR is known for wearing out tires. Fronts will wear in the inside and the rears will wear in the middle. I put 105,000 miles on mine before the a/c went out and I got the Camaro. The engine is rated 300 hp. Hope this helps you.

RANDY SSRs are one of my favorites I've had 3 of them and you only want an 05 or an 06 !!! The 03 and 04s only came with a 5.3L truck engine while the 05 and 06s came with the 6.0L VETTE ENGINE ! BUT AT $3000 its worth it !!

My dad owned an automotive page in the days of web 1.0, and Chevy invited him and my stepmom out to test drive the SSR for review. Handed over the keys to a red one and yellow one, and let the them take the trucks out for a rip on the local speedway. It was a different age for both motoring and internetting.

That Chevy SSR is a replica ideal for the Elcamino/Truck. I love those. A friend found one and all it needed was a transmission tune up. He had it restored. It cost him $10,000. Now he gets offers from 50 to 70 thousand.

The SSR is a truck. I worked at a Chevy dealership in New Orleans and I was there when the SSR debuted. For a few years, it came with a 5.4L and then it had a 6.1L...... The Truck bed release is in the glove box. You’re supposed to shut the tonneau cover first, then the tailgate

The Lincoln is a an easy fix... New fender, strut, control arm and drop link, possibly the drive shaft and door and your done. The SSR would be an interesting little project too. The engine cover isn't the only thing missing on that Jetta... It has a mismatched wheel as well. Buy it clean it and flog it. Quickly.

I really hope he pounces on that thing, too. I’ve always loved those things. I believe in 06, they upgraded the engine to a 5.7 and you could get a manual transmission in them but any SSR is cool. It’s the perfect cruising vehicle.

SSR trunk release is hidden in the glovebox and that weird looking key in the glovebox is how you lock the convertible top when you move it manually. SSR is definitely worth buying.

The Lincoln will be a helluva nice car put back together. The 2.0 Ecoboost is a sweet little engine with a load of midrange torque that makes it fun - I have a '17 Fusion Titanium, same color (Ruby Red tricoat), that's essentially the same car and it's a great car to drive. It's my wife's daily and she loves it. Even if the subframe is bent, replacing it isn't that big a deal with a used subframe. (Jessica would love you for this one)

The 05 and 06s are Basicly a TRAILBLAZER SS ! with the 6.0L LS2 ! I'VE HAD 3 SSRs but im hunting for a final run 2006 in the very rare factory blue to SUPERCHARGE ! but to get an 05 or 06 its going to run you $25,000 plus today so this one Randy is looking at is not too bad a deal

The 03 & 04s had the 5.3L V8 and they had serious cooling issues ! If you want one get a proven well maintained 05 or 06 ! Records are important considering what they want for one today ! But this one was only the 2nd mistake I've seen Randy make the other being a wheelchair caravan last year ! Both cleaned and fixed up would have brought 4 times the money invested !

On the Lincoln at 2:44 you can see what appears to be a small hole in the transmission with some cracks around it. I can bet that had a huge factor in totaling it out.

I saw an SSR when they first came out in some kind of crazy blue color, it might have been viper blue . It was insanely fast . I think the engine was modified. If you have the time to work on it and the money to have the body work done, then for that price why the hell not , Go for it Randy !!! As long as you’re thinning your herd and letting some of your stockpile go . You’re good to go . Enjoy them and then push them on down the road and let someone else enjoy it. Remember, you can’t take them with you when you go.
