My mother just told me that my grandmother made this for her and her 7 other bothers and sisters all the time growing up and I wanted to see what it was. So glad to fine a Puerto Rican recipe as the #1 Yotube search result! Thank you!

Thank you for this video! It's so simple, but I was failing to make it how I love it when I eat oatmeal in PR because I was using the wrong type of oats!

Hola Adriana, I am glad you are able to now make your creamy oatmeal like in Puerto Rico. This is why I like to provide detail information about my food items.

I came across a TikTok video where the person mentioned powder oaks. I took the 1 min Quaker oats and added 1/3 cup to my coffee grinder and set it to coarse. It was coarse powder; I added 3 1/3 cups of milk and placed it in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds. I added a little bit of butter and honey from Costco, and all my god, it gave me memories of how my mother and aunt from New York made our avena. It came out so creamy; if you happen to do this sometimes, it will cook too much. Just add a little bit of cold milk, and it will solve the issue. Yummy.

You sound like you would be a great Spanish teacher. I like how you said instant in Spanish in the beginning of the video. May you please make a video or a couple on different subjects in Spanish? Like one day do foods in Spanish then do phrases for going out to a restaurant, articles of clothing etc........ Please?

Hola, Thank you for your compliment. I made several videos already speaking both in Spanish and English - one of them is Party Sandwiches (Sandwichitos de Mezcla). I plan in the future to go to the Latin Market to interview the owners and introduce the produce in Spanish. Have a great Thanksgiving!

How much sugar do you add?
@AidasKitchen2 жыл бұрын
Hi Patsy, I would add ½ teaspoon to 1 teaspoon or according to your taste. However, I would suggest to start with ½ teaspoon increments until you are satisfied with the amount of sweetness.

Hola Mr. Savagerican, All the constructive inputs are very important to me. However, I am who I am and cannot change my style of speaking or mannerism. I try to do the best I can under all circumstances even while taking care of my mother and husband - both with cancer. My mother was living with me for 11 years until she passed away. I know I am not going to appeal to everyone and that is okay with me. This is not a source of income for me. This is just a hobby that I started while taking care of my family for the past 4 years since my outdoor activities were limited. I am 70 years old and a retiree, trying to enjoy life to the fullest. Have a beautiful weekend!
