Avocado Toast, and the Cafe that Inspired my Channel

I don't have a dish, but nutmeg always brings me back to my grandma's house. She never baked or cooked with it, but for some reasons, the first time I ever smelled nutmeg, I was transported to my childhood memories of being in my grandma's home in Taiwan. She's getting older and her health is deteriorating now, and I'm going back to visit her in a few weeks. I can't wait to see her again.

I think of my best friend, Megan, any time I bake a loaf of bread. We used to love baking together when we still lived close to each other.

for me, its a pasta salad that my grandma always made when we visited over the weekend. pasta salad and on the side some toast with smoked salmon. she always prepared it earlier in the day so the salad would be as flavourful as possible and up until now, its my favourite pasta salad, nothing could ever beat that feeling of coming home.

for me, it's pancit canton, the smell and taste of it always brings me back to my tutoring days with my teacher in online classes, she was the one who motivated me when things get too hard in my studies and she became my guide and my friend in those difficult times :)) although she's not tutoring me anymore and we barely talk now due to busy schedules, she'll always have a special place in my heart and all of her lessons are still in my head till this day xD.

Whenever I bake cookies for Christmas. I used to make seven kinds, and four of them were always the favourites of my mom, sibling, cousin, and bestie. I live in a different country now so make less cookies for the holidays, but every year I try to always make one of their favourites. 🥰

Oooh! Ur question reminded me of my best friend. Her dad always made the best scrambled eggs and whenever she brought it to school I'd always want to finish it and she always gave me a scolding about it. She moved away now but I visited her around June of last year. I suppose, whenever this memory arises, instead of the food, I'm reminded more of the person I like more than her dad's scrambled eggs.... I'm going to text her now, thank you Maddy for this heartwarming story♡

I make a chicken tortilla casserole. A layered dish that we called "chicken shit" when I was a kid. It reminds me of my mom, who has passed away some time ago.

Hi Maddy! When you are recording different clips, do you pause in between each clip and then record again. Don't you have to wash your hands each time and isn't it tedious to stop and then record again for the 2nd clip, etc?

Southeastern omelette in memory of my Uncle Slick. He was a phenomenal grill master and what ever was left the next day after grilling he would add to the omelette along with red yellow and green bell peppers along with onions. 😢🫠🤤 🫶🏿
