I developed yoga butt pain years ago and it keeps coming back everytime i get regular with yoga practice. I just skip all forward fold poses. Even attenpting it once triggers the pain and it takes weeks to resolve Thank you Cathy for the comprehensive video. I will these suggestions. Even experienced yoga teachers and PT folks were not able to help me with the issue. I am hoping these exercises will help

This actually stopped me from doing yoga and pole dancing years ago! I spent MONTHS trying to fix it and ended up giving up because I was tired of the pain (physios couldn't tell me what it was either). Started working out again last year and surprise, surprise it was back. But I actually do a lot of strengthening and stability stuff now and it doesn't give me much trouble anymore. Where was this video 8 years ago. 😂

Its not just where the hamstring is under the seat bones, but its also at the front where the pubic bones are. Its from the constant use of the forward folds, by various movement groups or disciplines because there is a bias or popularity to some movements at the neglect of the other movements, and it causes injury, and it hurts beyond measure. People also don't care if you hurt beyond measure.

Kathy you think you. I suffered a hamstring pull years ago and I believe I developed scar tissue right in that spot. Every time I do a forward for it seems to pull and repair that area and every night when I sleep it shortens and repairs I have a cyclical issue that’s ongoing. I have found squatting in dead lifting has been super helpful and not stretching. However, my limited stretching creates problems in my knee. I’m not sure what the answer is here so I tend to keep stretching and doing squats and deadlifts. Please let me know if you have other suggestions.

Sorry, but isn't it pilates, straitching? I mean a training ball, weights .... Where is yoga here? It's like calling a dude doing weight lifting - calisthenics. I don't mind, you do you. But I was looking for a yoga video. It's just confusing
