Pitta season is the time of year that the Pitta dosha is most prominent, and this runs from late spring through summer.
SO in order to combat the excess Pitta energy of the summer, it's best to focus on Pitta balancing diet and practices.
Top practices to reduce Pitta during Pitta season:
1. Meditate / gratitude prayer
2. Wear light, breathable clothing in cooling colors like blue, white, purple
3. Focus on pitta pacifying tastes - bitter, astringent and sweet
4. Avoid alcohol - but IF you do drink, choose white wine or beer
5. Avoid iced drinks
6. Encourage positive thinking
7. Avoid hot tubs and steam rooms
8. Focus on routine and celebrate rest!
9. Exercise - but NOT excessively. Outdoor kayaking, swimming, water activities are GREAT, yin yoga, walk or hike.
10. Reduce stress - deep, slow breathing, yoga nidra, rest and play like a child.
11. Let the inner child loose!
