I used to work at somewhere similar. We were essentially a Love Hotel where people could rent 'toys' and I worked the front desk and instructed people on safe use of said 'toys'. I really appreciate this video as someone who knows very little about BDSM but is lowkey curious about some "sensations" (as she put it) that would be put under that category, as it gives me something more concrete to investigate to learn more about it as well as myself. At least from my experience, which is absolutely not universal, some people use cnc as a way to therapeutically get through previous sa experiences. It's a safe way to work through your feelings about intercourse, as if it was previously taken from you against your will-the cnc situation allows you total control (as in you can stop if it gets too much, etc) so you are able to retake the intimate act of intercourse for yourself and not allow that previous trauma to take over you.

I have issues around my tail bone, he lays his hand there to make sure he doesn't hit it and smacked the crap out of his hand with the belt. Then asked if I was really ok, because he thought he'd gone too hard and I maybe hadn't spoken up. We also came up with hand signals because I do go nonverbal if I have a flashback. It's nice to see someone discuss the lifestyle in a clear way. People that aren't involved often have so many weird thoughts and stereotypes. From my very superficial and shallow understanding of bdsm, I understood it as an assuming of control (Dom) and a giving up your control (Sub). The S&M parts could be interchangeable between the Dom and sub, because you can have a masochistic Dom and a sadistic sub but still work within their respective roles. But this video gave me a more thorough understanding of bdsm, while some parts did go over my head it is still more comprehensive then what I had.

Nana to Kaoru was my intro into everything and I'm glad it was. Cause it was played off as two kids my age, at the time, figuring all of it out without sex. There was stumbles but there was aftercare, there was care for tools, priority on the safety and protection of those involved and it came across as so intimate and beautiful I kinda clicked into it. Granted the ending had some issues but overall I feel it was handled well. But that's what personally opened me up and I'm glad that well THAT was my intro and then me doing munches, exploring, etc. As opposed to just something that could give a bad impression.

The 50 shades of grey scene you may have heard about was a total, unacceptable f**k up. She says "do your worst". Instead of recognizing that she was new to bdsm and didn't understand what she was saying, he went and just whaled on her as hard as he could with no warm up. Again, this is what I remember and I didn't watch the scene fully, but she may or may not have used her safe word and he ignored it. He then just walks off with no aftercare, I can't remember if he untied her even. There's a vibe that its her fault because "she asked for it". Any good dom would've known that was unacceptable, she absolutely was not prepared for that and if he didn't realize that, he's not much of a dom.
