If you are taking in general, meaning the RW you are landing on is set in the FMC, then when the tip of the nose, that is the tip of the triangle in the ND is parralle “abeam” the the RW symbol in the ND, the end of the two lines then you are abeam, one thing to remember is to lower the range of the ND to the lowest. For circling, you put the RW you are planning to land on in the fix page and you will see it now in the ND, so you use it like you did before. Note we are speaking hypothetically 😉, since practically you know when you are abeam when the RW threshold is visually abeam your shoulder. Hope that answer your question All the best Abdul

Hello G L Perfect observation and I am really really glad you mentioned it. Belive it or not doing an approach like this you will be able to be stabilized way before 1000ft AGL with no problems. Assuming of course we are doing a VFR approach and we still want to capture full ILS. I will upload the video for the rest of the approach and you will see the V/S being decreased to intercept and maintaing the G/S.

Excelent videos captain!, can i ask you what you choose to descent at 1200f/m?, what is the math behind that? Thanks!

Hello Daniel, Actually it was just through trial and error. This what I found work best for me to be able to catch the G/S with no further changes in the set V/S. The airplane actual V/S will increase and decrease the with turn but 1200 set as the target most of the time guarantee G/S capture by 1000ft AGL or being on the proper G/P Remember this is a tricky maneuver to get use to so start gradually and every time go for a higher angle. Hope I answered your question. Please let me know if you have any other questions or comments. Thanks again Abdul
