the poor little seal with that terrible injury. thank you so much for rescuing that poor baby when you did. i don't think that poor little seal had long to go, before that rope would have ended their life. after the rope was removed, the little seal wanted to be with his new heroes, and thank them for saving his life. i hope the seal gets all better real soon, and grows to be big and strong. thank you also for removing the hook from the other seal, as well as removing straps and line from the others you all caught👍👍

We cannot guarantee his survival, but Cape fur seals thrive in their natural habitat, away from humans, and seawater acts as a very efficient wound cleaner. Thus far, we have never encountered a dead fur seal with the scar of a previous entanglement. It might unfortunately happen, but we believe our success rate is very high.

Thank you for your kind words! While we’re deeply committed to helping the seals, we know our work is just a small part of a much bigger battle. Our rescues highlight the urgent need to address the root causes of ocean pollution-like our reliance on single-use plastics and the gaps in law enforcement and recycling efforts. By sharing these stories, we hope to inspire real change that goes beyond treating the symptoms and starts tackling the problem at its source.

My thoughts exactly! I know the pups do it with all the guys, but the amount that stick around when Tony is there? They just want the head scratching and pets. But I believe it was Naude(?) that had a pup actually “hugging” his hand. But I think that was a few years ago?
