Best series on building an AK I have ever seen. Awsome dude, I would even let it like this and don't paint it. Because dissassembling it, grind with sand paper and spraypaint it is easy, many people can do that. But almost no one can build an AK. It looks homemade like this.

@kdonovan31298 ай бұрын
If you’re really gentle with a skinny weld rod like a 6013 the cetme can be done lower heat. I saw a receiver pressed with that harbor freight with the blocks clamped down and 5/8” rod and the bolt carrier. Don’t need nothin fancy for those

And on your cetme the front of the mag well needs taken off until the mag seats otherwise it will hit in the back. Just make sure barrel is headspaced with a feeler gap gauge. Ptr is the actual 308 and not the 762/51 original 308 is higher pressure js

Also, would you say that it was easier to do the quenching with the barrel on? I thought about it and if you had done everything in order the way you originally intended the heat treating would have been done prior to the barrel install but I’m thinking that when I do my build I am going to put the barrel in before I do the quenching so I can use it like a handle like you did
