I've always admired Seamus' prudence and good judgment. He does not care what others think of him because he knows that he is a good man and a good family man, and he is not going to sacrifice that because someone provokes him as happened to his brother Martin, it is obvious that the crime anecdote of his brother makes a lasting impression on Marty

Yeah, but that trait of Seamus’s must have been strong in the McFly family. So strong, that George got his ass kicked everyday at school until Marty “taught” him how to not “be so chicken” and fight his bullies back. Hmm…
@Checkmate11383 жыл бұрын
@@FutureGirl2033 Obviously something got lost down the line from Seamus up to George. Seamus wasn't a coward, or at least we don't see him to be one, and it didn't seem to negatively influence his life. It's always a balance in life, one should never react aggressively when others taunt you, but neither should you let yourself be pushed around. It took until Marty McFly for the family to learn that lesson, after he had gone time traveling as he did.

The only arresting Buford and his henchmen got was for being thieves for robbing the Pine City stage because of one of the henchmen opening his big mouth from 1:08-1:11 (bad luck for them but good luck for everyone else for knowing their plans to get evidence to make an arrest) and/or because there were cameras around and were caught on camera for robbing the Pine City stage.

LOL. Asians were commonly referred to as 'the Yellow Man" because of our so called yellowish tint to our skin compared to Northern Europeans (who had a pinkish hue to their fair skin). But in the 20th century it fell out of favor since it was also a common insult to imply "cowardice". No one, even those who didn't like Asians would EVER call them Cowards. Anyone who faced them in battle (Filipinos in the War of 1898 / Japanese in WW2 / Chinese and Koreans in the Korean War / Vietnamese, Laotians and Cambodians in the Vietnam War) knew that they would hurl themselves into the battle. Cowards don't do Human waves (though it is fanatical, you can't say they're cowards). Now there are other 'armies' who were worthless and ran away in other continents (whom we won't discuss here LOL) but the American experience in the 20th Century made the entire culture STOP using the word Yellow and one of the reasons is that no one ever considered Asians to be Cowards (afraid to fight).

Whenever i see Marty throw the pie plate at Tannen, it makes me wonder how many times Michal J. Fox had to throw it during the making of this film, because chances are he didn't get it right on the first take. In fact i also wonder if anyone ever tested if whether or not a pie plate could ever make someone with a gun actually miss a target in real life, because pie plates are made out of tin and since tin is such a thin and light material it can make a pie plate fly like a frisbee, but it's such a light material that there's no way a tin pie plate could ever possess enough weight or force to actually cause someone with a gun to miss what they're aiming at.
@ashwan38754 жыл бұрын
its two different takes, MJ Fox is just throwing it at the camera, someone else just threw the plate at close range when it switches to tannen. So Fox probably didn't have to do too many takes, since his not actually trying to hit the gun.

I saw this movie a million times as a kid, but, with Fox's thick accent, I never realized Marty's ancestor here is lecturing him with very fatherly advice.

@0:27 Haha, I never knew exactly what Buford was asking in that line, until reading it on the captions here. Regardless of anything else about Mad Dog, I think that's really quite a fair question.

They have ZZ top performing here which was mainly a 70s band. They have Huey Lewis and the News in the first movie which was an 80s band. Then in the second and third movie they have Flea from RHCP which was a 90s band.

As a kid Marty looked to me like an adult, the hero of the movie. (Although of course the movie frames his reaction to "yellow" as a vice, realistically.) As an adult, I just want to help him out the way the people here are. Still the hero, but needs to be told what the stakes are since he's not acting on the high school stage anymore.

Well he was 29 at this time in 1990. Wasn’t a teenager at all even with the first movie
@fryfry3772 жыл бұрын
@@IamPatrickStar I meant that when I was a kid, he looked like an adult. But even as an adult, I'm able to suspend disbelief and make-believe he's a kid because of how he's being played. It helps that I'm now older than Michael J. Fox was when he played Marty.

What if the train is late Doc? Who cares? Just don't be in town at 8.00am on Monday and you'll be gravy.
@afriendofbean3 жыл бұрын
@Jack Jones That's true. I wondered that too. Both Doc and Marty had a meeting spot to wait for the train to steal it and that spot where they were waiting to steal the train was a safe spot and if they both stayed there, they wouldn't of ran into trouble from Buford. Unfortunately, it kind of was Doc's fault for going into the bar to get drunk even though he felt sad for breaking up with Clara and made Clara sad especially that bar where Doc went into was the bar where Buford told Marty to meet him outside of. Either that or, if Doc didn't drink that one cup of Whiskey after the customers wanted to have a toast with him, he wouldn't of passed out causing a delay making Buford and his henchmen catch up. Otherwise maybe Marty should have said that he will meet at 10:00am instead of 8:00am especially if the train ran late, it probably wouldn't of been too late at least 15 minutes late.

@@shahrulamar5358 If Marty loved to kill, it was probably only because of Buford hanging him and calling him "yellow" where Marty wanted revenge.
@shahrulamar53582 жыл бұрын
@@afriendofbean Not just because of that. But probably also because his father was suffering everyday since his school days being bullied by Bufford great grandson. 🤔🤔🤔
@afriendofbean2 жыл бұрын
@@shahrulamar5358 That's true but, Bufford's great grandson Biff was not born at this time since this is the past that Marty was in so he couldn't be thinking he wanted revenge on Buford because of Biff even though both Buford and Biff are both Tannen's. Perhaps Marty's main strictness towards Buford is preventing Buford from shooting and killing Doc since from the year 1955 Marty saw Doc's tombstone which showed that Doc was shot and killed on September 7, 1885 and Marty traveled to 1885 just to prevent it happening to Doc and probably wanted to meet up with Buford to change the future of 1955 so neither Marty or Doc would be shot and killed and Marty succeeded because when Buford was arrested, the tombstone disappeared in the picture which showed that Doc and Marty have never died and there won't be a tombstone shown of them in the year 1955.
