Fun fact: I was at Kroger today. They were out of their store brand applewood smoked bacon that I usually buy. So I went with Simple Truth uncured hardwood smoked bacon. Even though it has sugar (non-paleo) it has NO sodium phosphates, nitrates or nitrites. And it’s not too much more expensive than the store brand. Just a good alternative for anyone looking for healthier bacon.

I love that I live in England most of our animals are pasture raised, organic, running free or grass fed. If it’s British we don’t generally have to read the label to hard..(tesco finest for meat is best macro from supermarket, sausages etc) We don’t have the keto treats that you guys do ... I used to resent that before I was adapted but most of our meat is clean, British beef is renound for being amazing. I’ve never heard of turkey bacon or other hydrogenised stuff.. our sausages literally have pork and herbs in. I now realise that keto in uk is amazing. Just drive around any country side here and you can see all the animals free in fields eating grass. Same with pigs, huge fields of pigs running around... is more muddy but to be expected. Literally my next door neighbour has chickens and sells eggs on her doorstep £1 for 6. Never purchased a keto product in 4 years......well it’s not available here. It Amazes me that Americans hold all the keto info on KZbin but there’s more crappy (keto) products to sell I guess for fake keto. Wasn’t a rant at you guys lol was just a realisation that I thought I’d been missing out on stuff all this time that has been here all along...... real bacon, without having to search. So many channels are showing keto bars and stuff we don’t have

Meateaters are the most environmentally destructive, cruel and hypocritical people on this planet. They demand their meat, dairy, eggs and fish at any cost to their health, the environment and the horrible abuses to the animals they murder and consume. Meatheads are like heroin addicts, willing to commit any manner of atrocity for their next fix while their world literally crumbles around them! Animal Agriculture is the leading driver of human induced climate change, poor health, deforestation, water depletion, habitat loss, species extinction and world hunger. Our planet is being eaten in front of our eyes. Take all animal products off your plate as they are not only unnecessary, but unhealthy as well. Let's be the generation who gives a damn.

Bobby, celery juice has natural nitrates as well. Nitrates are not bad on their own. Nitrates turn into nitrosamines when cooked in high heat. If you keep your cooking at low temps u minimize the formation of nitrosamines. If you want to completely eliminate nitrates etc, simply do not eat bacon lol.

I cook my bacon in the oven, on top of a round wire cooling rack, set in a cast iron pan. Parchment paper is sprayed with liquid food grade silicone. I"d rather not consume silicone, food grade or not. My way of cooking bacon on a wire rack allows the bacon to cook evenly on both sides. Always perfectly done and crispy. I pour the bacon fat out from the pan, save it in the fridge, and throw eggs in the pan, back in the oven. Perfect sunny-side up eggs to go with my bacon. The bacon fat seasons my cast iron pan as a bonus.
