I don’t think this concept of being all in versus all consumed can be overemphasized. It is so easy to let any domain in life become all consuming to the detriment of the other domains of life. It requires intentionality and purpose to become a person that can completely commit to a goal without letting that goal choke the life out of the rest of your life. Be patient. Be committed. Trust the process. Give your best. But build your identity on something that will outlast a momentary goal. Great stuff Nick!

I think if you want something bad enough you should be all consumed. Point blank. If you need to balance your family and the rest of your life than obviously you can’t be all consumed.

@@stevenbrown835 that’s fair. I personally don’t see being all consumed toward goals in the way Nick seems to be referring as a sustainable way to live. At some point being fully consumed by these types of things could lead to burnout and other issues that may be irreversible.

Very much relatable! I am working mom of two, and have a full time desk job. I try to squeeze my workouts at the crack of dawn before I pack my kids to school, and run off to work. Have to work with what we got, and be forgiving for our 'fall of the wagon's, and keep trying to be a better version of ourselves. Thank you for this video!

I’m currently 1 week into acl reconstruction recovery. I’m all in, doing all the things I need to do to get better. But I’m not all consumed, I’m not letting it sour my mood or energy. I realize this is important because I am more reliant on my partner and my friends more than ever and it’s just as hard for them to help as it is for me to ask for help

If you give your shoes around 24 or 48 hours to recover before your next run, you can get the lifespan of them way up. For example two pair of the endorphin speeds and overall both should last you longer. Love the video!

I think a lot of suffer with addictive personalities and it’s easy to make a goal like running a marathon and immediately everything you do, say, watch, is based around that goal and to your point it ends up adding a ton of unnecessary stress and causing your support structure to eventually get burnt out on it too.
