What do I do when my goal is actually recovery? Periods of sobriety include being distant and short-tempered and just not happy. When he isn't drinking, he doesn't want sobriety, he just wants to avoid the problems drinking has caused in the past. If I were to point out his volatile emotions, his solution is that going back to drinking would make him happy. I want him to develop skills to deal with life and connect with people. Right now he is annoyed or angry with pretty much everyone and everything. Are there steps I can take to help someone realize that they need to find ways to cope with life instead of just getting him to want to be sober?

What do you do with someone who threatens suicide, for 15 years? My loved one is experiencing boundaries from extended family and friends as well as the immediate circle. My loved one lives alone as of right now because of boundaries. I watch your videos all the time and know one answer you will give me. I tried it and it worked for that situation, but I think I need more direction and don't know what to do 😢

I feel you on this. My addicted love one threatens suicide and that they will die if I leave. What a huge burden to place in me. I want freedom so bad but cannot find the courage to leave due to fear of what may come

Is an end goal for‘change’ too broad? My son is struggling with multiple addictions as well as depression and anxiety . He is very shut down when I try to talk with him. I am very tempted to give an ultimatum.
