Just watched Saturday Kitchen and remembered I hadn’t seen this recipe yet. I don’t have the shallots but have everything else and red and white onions so may just go with those and dinner is sorted. I’m ordering his book 😋. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for the recipe.I love watching your recipes. What's the "Balti" element in this? I've heard of Balti Chicken once but never a recipe. I understand its a UK thing but doesn't seem to exist here in USA.
@bluebloodedsumo Жыл бұрын
Don't worry, that was NOT a genuine balti !! Even the way he pronounced it was WRONG

Hi Chetna, what exactly does tamarind add to the dish? Is there a suitable substitute if there is non to hand? Google search is saying lemon or lime juice ..... If this is a good sub, what quantity would you suggest of lemon/lime will bring a similar result please....TIA
@logicalindian8229 Жыл бұрын
Tamarind is a sour tasting fruit. So yes, if you don’t have on hand you can add lemon. But tamarind has a very sticky texture just like dates or prunes.

I love your recipes! Last week I made your Falafel and coriander mint chutney with the mini samosas! Other recipes as well but last night I made that snack, baked Pita with the leftover coriander and mint chutney, and hummus and it was delicious! Excited to try this one.❤

That was my thought, too, "Put all those shallots IN!" 🤣I can't stand it, if somebody wastes even a bit of prepared ingredients. BTW isn't the star anise too overpowering? That's not my usual flavour so I'll go easy on it.

I wish you’d spend more time spelling out the more unusual and exotic slices like the driven mango spice. I can’t catch the name you give it so I’m not able to source it. There are other slices you’ve mentioned I this video which I can’t catch . So please consider the uninitiated idiots like myself. One other issue that I have is how casual you are with quantities of the ingredients the number of teaspoons, when mentioned, don’t ever seem to match the number of teaspoons measures you actually use. I love the videos and watch them all but these issues get to me - sorry
@FoodwithChetna Жыл бұрын
When I do my own videos I am very specific with quantities but when I have guest cooks then it is not possible to control how they cook! anyways if you had taken a moment to check out the description then you would have noticed that I listed all the ingredients there!!!!

meant spices not slices 🙂

Chetana, I think you excelled in the Great British Bake Off, baking is your forte and you should stick to Bakery recipes, nor authentic Indian recipes
