A lovely and fascinating dish/recipe. I love chickpeas and cook them regularly, in many different ways. I'll definitely give this a try. Just one question. Can the pulp of the tamarind be used in cooking, rather than just the 'juice' after soaking?

it has seeds and too much fiber so no good

Chetna, hello! Jake here. This chickpea curry look utterly delicious! I've also converted your Hawkins pressure Cooker for ages - what's the size? 2 litre...4 or 5 litres?
@FoodwithChetna2 күн бұрын
Not sure, its 15 years old, maybe 2 litres
@jakesenior35652 күн бұрын
@@FoodwithChetna Yes I wondered 2 litres. since you soaked the chickpeas in 1.6 litres and they almost fill it. I hope you're well. I've been enjoying watching all the food you're eating in India!

Mexican dried chipotle peppers are not very spicy and are smoky and I think that they would be a good substitute for black cardamom. But I live in Fremont in the Bay Area of California, and we have MANY Indian stores. And dried chipotle peppers are available in many grocery stores. I am very fortunate to have access to all the foods!

Dish looks simple and tasty. Mic problem - I think it's because it's clipped to your jumper neck which has flopped over. No matter, I get the gist.
